UR 5 Joint Replacement Tutorial

In this tutorial video presentation, Michael Davis, Robotics Field Service Technician for CrossRobotics, will demonstrate step-by-step how to replace the Wrist 3 Joint on a Universal Robots model UR5. What is the typical failure mode for these joints? I understand they are un-reliable. What could be monitored to possibly predict their failure?

What is the spiral metal (with three bolts) at 1.05 what exist in every join? Is it a safety torque sensor?

These joints are very hard to replace. We tried replacing shoulder joint and it took like 4hrs. I wish UR made these joints maintenance friendly.

Can you confirm that UR5 has installed KBM motors? And in particular, do you know which type?

Cross Company Then I guess there is a MODBUS connection between servos with just 2 wires. Do you know if they are linked to eachother or not?
