Wow, amazing! Always sending fire through the TuBe! this is such an educational and funny video, The production quality tho!! One point to the folks that like to surf the comments, In defense of other arms and motions control systems out there like (mrmc, Sisu, Abb, Kuka...) they had more resources and build software/GUI to program their arms faster with some training (the reason they cost more)! however, to get your perfect pouring shoot (gravity and chaos is something you have to deal with and takes time)
@AustenPaul3 жыл бұрын
Great input from the pro himself, also I would like to add that MRMC and Motorized Precision both have cheaper arms then listed but they market them as model movers/secondary arms that would be used just for moving products around instead of a camera!

Great video - there are lots of variously priced arms out there that will hold a camera (or welding head, or gripper etc), however the industry robots you mentioned at the start of the video are actually standard off the shelf robots, but specifically modified for cinema applications. Very powerful software to drive them and keep those camera paths nice and silky smooth. Most importantly though - if anyone is considering using an arm for a project, make sure you insist that it has ability to sync or genlock with your camera shutter to ensure that movement between camera and robot are syncronised - especailly if you're doing repeat passes on subjects - those video plates will never completely match without shutter sync between camera and the robot. Happy shooting!

When I was in Switzerland last year I was lucky enough to visit a friend-of-a-friend's creative production house and give their robotic arm a go - definitely less glamourous and flashy than the pro-sumer gear that gets marketed commercially, and much more complex to use! Won't be long now until we start seeing DJI, Zhiyun and Edelkrone entering the market for pro-sumer versions of these.

Somehow I cannot see your answer only in the notification. But I think you’re right. Eventually there will come an affordable version. Anyway no matter how cheap they will get. I don’t think my wife is gonna approve on having in it somewhere in the apartment 😆

Hopefull one day you will be able to operate a robot arm the same way you operate a slider, where you just grab the camera on the robot arm place it at point one then at point two then adjust the speed and rubberbanding.
