If I recall correctly, Mamoru Miyano actually has his own TV show, and his actual laughter legit sounds just like this. This is genuine laughter. When I took voice acting classes (didn't go anywhere, sadly) I was told that in order to get a genuine laugh, you have to think of something really, really hilarious. Whether it be a joke, something embarrassing from your past, presented with something funny. I bet the script was the "presented with something funny"

I’m assuming that the market in America different but it’s also because vas from other countries go to intense school specialized in voice acting. Especially Japanese vas. Americans seem to work because they want to do voice acting. I’m from South Korea so I include British, Japanese and Korean vas when I’m comparing American vas. Please please watch with the subs! I know Americans don’t like reading subs because they’re not used to it but that’s why anime is exclusive to a very small group of fans… watch it with subs!!! It’s so immersive and Americans have bad translation and bad voice acting… even insanely popular anime like demon slayer had such bad translation :(

For those wondering, yes his laugh is genuine. What went on behind the scenes on this was the voice actor wasn’t told his lines, because they wanted a real laugh. Obviously in any predominantly English speaking country, “Dick” is a nickname for Richard, but in Japan they don’t have a word for the nickname in particular, so as far as he was concerned he was being told this character’s name was “Penis”
