I think you are doing great! Just found your channel and I am cheering you on.. Alaska is beautiful but to cold for me.. I"m originally from Vermont and have lived in Florida for over 40 years so cold ? Nah I'll watch you enjoy it and live it 😊

I would also try building a frame to lift the panels up off the ground like 10 feet, clean trees out of the way and if you can't get more panels maybe install mirrors to reflect sun light on to the panels. If there is any wind, try a wind gen for a little bit of power too. Maybe look into some solar heating. The issue is short day light hours.

Looks like a tough climate for off gridders! I'm off grid in Oregon. I turn my inverter off at night and use DC wiring for lights, computers and so on. Saves a lot of juice!

Great ideas. I'm implementing both during my build this summer

Wood for heat and propane for cooking 🤔 why not get wood burning stove and use for both heat and cooking? Just a thought

Great video. How well does the snow melt mode work on the starlink?

It does it's job. It burns 100watts extra when it's on but I use it in the morning and while it's snowing.

You’ve been cleaning off those panels a bunch this year holy crap

What do you think about a propane powered generator instead of gasoline? I already have propane at my cabin for the heater, but don't have any other gasoline-powered machinery. Thanks.

I've heard mixed reviews. I've never done the math on them but if they are more efficient than gas or diesel, I could see them being a good option. Personally, I want to switch everything over to diesel eventually.

Have you been clearing all of the snow off of the solar panels? A partially shaded solar panel will produce significantly less power than one with complete full exposure, even in full sunlight. What part of the state are you in?

What's the point when it's dark half the year

How much do you spend on electricity each month? I can almost guarantee I spend less money than you, AND I live where "it's dark half the year"

Man with todays technology you do it everyday?. Looks like 6kW generator overkill for charging batteries and 100W consumption. If you insist on carrying gen in and out 1000W honda or yamaha would do with half a gallon tank/daily consumption. And those extension cords, probably 16 AWG too. What a mess.
