Urban Anchorage Trout (Artic Char Fail)

My family went to Alaska to see glaciers and wildlife! It wasn't a fishing trip, but I did manage to get in a little fishing. So join me on my Alaskan vacation... well, thru the power of video!

I can't get this image out of my head. Your plane is starting to taxi down the runway and the flight attendant is yelling, "OK that's it! Reel that line in and close the window NOW!" Looks like a fun family getaway and you didn't get skunked.

Pretty cool trip. Alaska is awesome. How's it a fail if you got one? Be nice if wdfw stocked other species besides rainbows anymore. Were those ladies skinny dipping? 👍

I only got a couple trout sir. Wanted an artic char. But in retroscect happy just not to get skunked! They were not, ha ha!

@@WAFishQuest That's too bad 😂 Did you know that a fishing rod counts as a personal item? You can take a regular rod on the plane as carry on so long as it's not too long. I usually take a couple 9' 2 piece rods with no issues. Just throw the reel in your luggage though.

I was up there in Aug to hit some red fish on the Kasilof and the Russian. I had a brown bear run at me and a young moose charges us on the KGB hwy. AK never disappoints. 🤙🏽

Thank you! Indeed on the glaciers. Something cool I learned on the cruise is two (of the 26) are still growing for some reason. They just have perfect conditions. So although not much, that was a smidge of good news!
