Back out with the BFS gear, a more urban setting for this session. Trying to find some Perch, and managing a couple.

Nice video, the trace making piece was useful, I often have those kind of Perch sessions, tight lines

Thank you - I probably could manage with a fluorocarbon leader but I’m a bit more confident when I’m using a wire trace.

As soon as I switched over to the BFS gear I started catching again. Had a really tough winter on the big lures, put on a 2” grub and boom. It’s definitely lively around me, although the cold snap we’re meant to be getting may slow things down again.

@@reellures2770 yea iv had a lot of blanks latley but i can't complain too much as i had 1 good day that made up for it last week, video of the perch is on my channel, 2lb 7oz, 42cm out my local canal.. I was over the moon! My new pb perch.. But it's been really hard going in general 🤷♂️

How do you find them clips for your jig heads? I use a different type and they can be a bit fiddely to close due to big fingers and thumbs 🙄
@reellures27702 жыл бұрын
😁 they’re very good but very small. I’m beginning to realise that as well as pie thumbs getting in the way I might need a trip to specsavers. In all honesty the much lighter trace has made a massive difference.

@@reellures2770 I use a thin 5kg tungsten trace when fishing trebles and cranks, but if aiming just for perch with singles iv been using 10lb flurocarbon. It's the clips I struggle with! Them ones look like you just pull the split ring straight threw? If so it might be easier for me to try them
@reellures27702 жыл бұрын
Yes that’s right, it’s shaped like a small hook. You just pull the lure on. I’ve got some on 8lb fluorocarbon as well. Very light weight too and much easier than re-tying.
