You are amazing, Greg. Now I'm thinking I may need to save some cardboard for my project. Ponder, ponder....

Nice looking swales.

Woohoo thanks!!!! They are not quite on contour but have seen them with an inch of rain in them and they will work great!

@@GregPetersonAndTheUrbanFarm I like the idea of swales to contain water but don't like how large and intrusive they can be. Yours look like the perfect size.

I am so happy gor this new life you have taken on. I love when your Dreams take shape. I am just so happy we still get to interack with you. ❤️ Every fruit tree I bought from you has done well. I bought 2 grape vines, two figs, two Palmagranites,and a Pakistani mulberry that is the most exciting tree. I love it. It growes so fast, we cut it down to about 7 ft. In Dec and now it is a good 12 to 23 ft tall. I did lose a Daworf mulberry how ever it s roots were eaten. But you had sugestedplanting with some thing to protectyheroots but I wasnt able toget itthe. And was to stubborn to wait 3 days. So this is on me. We caught the crider snd stopped it. I will be getting more trees fro. Yhe pop up Nursery yhis fall😃

Woohoo thanks for the kudos. YES Mexican Elderberries do grow in the desert. We will be bringing in some this January!

Cool project! Just from a practical standpoint, I was wondering if you left periodic gaps in your elderberry “hedge” so you won’t have to walk all the way around one end or the other to get to the other side once the bushes grow together. Or will they stay short enough to step over?
@GregPetersonAndTheUrbanFarm Жыл бұрын
Jeff - Yes yes - we will be leaving a couple gaps in the LONG row.

@@GregPetersonAndTheUrbanFarm Glad to hear it. That would be a east mistake to make, and I wasn’t sure how good to were at the high jump.

Just wondering how you’ll handle the rhizome spread on your elderberries.
@GregPetersonAndTheUrbanFarm Жыл бұрын
As my dad would say jokingly very carefully!!! that aside I am planning on letting them run the row length and as they spread from the width I will periodically use my sharp shooter shovel to cut them off - probably repot and sell them!

AND will be learning along the way!

@@GregPetersonAndTheUrbanFarm Yup, the repot and sell or make another row for sure. I planted a York and Nova and have used the ‘babies’ to create my row. They grow super fast here in Waco, Tx. Both grew from 2ft bare root to between 6-8’ in less than 3 years. I’m looking forward to seeing your progress.
