I grow more cherry tomatoes every year because my granddaughter eats all of them. I remember last year I had a small bowl of cherry tomatoes for her when she came into the house. She scarfed them down and then went to the fridge and found another bowl I had of them and ate all of them. 🤣🤣 When she stops eating them, I’ll reduce the amount I grow but for now I’m growing even more. I want enough for someone else to have a few. 😂😂😂

Hands down best greenbean is half-runners. You won't find them in packets - only can get them by the ounce at like Ace Hardware or a local rollermill. For 3...now 4 generations is all we've planted and canned. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll mail you some when I get them in late April. We always direct sow them at the same time we set out the seedlings/starts...zone 7 first week of May. Trying a new pepper this year...sugar rush peach pepper! Also lemon basil. And a pink dandelion (medicinal herb). Like you I'm laying off the small tomatoes and going for Amish paste and a slicer.

I experimented last year and bought a package of long red and yellow and purple rustic peppers and took just the red seeds and threw them in a grow bag. I had way too many sweet peppers. The whole back of the yard was filled with them.....and they grew huge. Im gonna do it again because I learned some things from that first trial.
@Yahuahsword9 ай бұрын
Couple of questions if you don't mind? What kind of soil do you use and did you use fertilizer? I've only tried growing sweet peppers twice, and both were a fail, so I need some tips if you wouldn't mind. Thanks!
@carolfryer94949 ай бұрын
@@Yahuahsword Im sorry I took so long to answer. My son bought me a cell phone and I barely get on the computer now. I used generally pro mix from Walmart and I throw a couple handsful of fertilizer. I like to keep blood meal and bone meal on hand . I get them mixed up so look them up to see which is for leaves and which is for fruit. I threw it in a grow bag and scattered a bunch of pepper seeds in it. The pepper I got from Walmart in a bag called Rustica. The peppers are in different colors...red , orange, yellow and in the spring the have purple too. You can do it with any long , sweet pepper in the store. I do the same with tomatoes too or anything I think I would like to try. I hope you enjoy. I heard we are supposed to get severe heat and drought again here where I am. At present have snow and its really cold here but it suppose warm up. Started some winter sowing of flowers. As for peppers have J. Nardello, Banana, King of North, Lemon Drop, Sweet Chocolate, and Golden Cal Wonder . Hot or Mild -Lesya, Pimento Pepper and some others. Trying old and new. Tomatoes C. Purple, Martino Roma, G Jubilee, Orange Peach, Pink Jazz, Ground Cherry ( yellow/purple so many tom and pretty), Brandywine and more Roma like them. Cucumbers Beta Alpha, Pickling, China Jade, Suyo Long, Spacemaster 80 , Tendergreen and Early Fortune. Melons Have lots new one Lemon Drop, Honey Rock, Cal Sweet, Orange Flesh and some others. Melons, some Cucumbers and Beans growing on Ladder Mesh. Then use some other Trellis I have. Used s drip irrigations and loved it just hate putting it out but makes a difference for me. Have 5 raised beds pretty large along with lots pots ( fabric pots large, XL and some medium. Then have make time for all fruit trees, grape vines and berry vines. Planning some pruning and spraying once snow melts. Oh Blueberries. Love them all. Have some plans more winter squash, corn, beans ( try painted pony heard good things). I make plans on computer to look back and use large calendar which works great. Also use composition and note book draw plans. Take care Happy Planning. PS Lots lots of flowers😄

Just wondering if you ever made tomato powder with your dehydrated tomatoes? The thing is you have to make them go longer than usual ...they cant be bendy they have to be completely dry....I love it because if I only need a table spoon of tomato paste I can make just that amount.. and not have to waste the rest of the can of tomato past because I only need a little bit....I sprinkle it in soups and stews , you can make tomato juice from it, all kinds of stuff. I just found a few KZbin on how to make it and so glad I did...If you make it what do you use it in ?

I vote for part 2! I’m going to try using more bags this year. Last year some of my 25 gallon bags that I had in a kiddie pool got a lot of white stuff on the bottom and everything died. Not sure if it was mold or calcium buildup from the water. All the videos I watched said the bags dry out quickly so I was watering them everyday but I guess since they were bigger they held on to more water and I ended up overwatering. I’m going to get smaller bags like yours and see if that works better. What type of soil do you use in your grow bags?
@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead9 ай бұрын
I plan to record part 2 tomorrow. O ok. Sorry to hear that. I don’t have enough space to have a kiddie pool in garden area but I have heard and had people say that.
