URBAN KAYAK River Fishing Under Highway!

Today we are out on a brand new section of a major river in Michigan. This section is located right off the highway and is HEAVILY populated. That said, this urban kayak adventure was a ton of fun! We fished under and around a major highway bridge, trekked up to a dam and pulled a few fish off of tight cover throwing suspending jerkbaits! Took my daughter out fishing for trout this past weekend and in 90 minutes she landed 30 🤯. It was impressive, and awesome to see her catch them when others were struggling. When I got a chance to throw a line, we double up 8, yes 8, times! She was a beast and showed some some great skill. Makes a dad proud!

Haven’t been out yet. We just thawed here in NY and our Trout season opens Thursday and we got a snow storm coming. So might be a couple weeks

I think it’s time you and Paul tested out some lure retrievers. Pocket knockers, jewel baits hound dog, Diawa, Lews, bps, cabelas all make them, 2 lures saved and most pay for themselves

Question for you on Boonedox. I recently got some myself, and I noticed they are a bit awkward to use as intended and deploy them up/down while IN the water. Unless the ramp is perfectly sloped (or I want to be up to my thigh in water), I end up raising or lowering the boonebox wheels actually up on land (or partially floating) by lifitng up a side of the kayak one at a time. Am I doing something wrong, or is this expected with boonedox wheels?

That's normal for non paved entry. I try to drop before I hit land if I can. Otherwise just a slight tip of the yak.
