In India, now a days, revit is very popular. I m a computer faculty and my first batch on revit architecture was successfully completed on the year 2011. All the students of revit architecture are now working in gulf countries. So, it's not true that revit is not used in India. This tutorial is really helpful.thanks

thanks so much for sharing. The video shows the situation of a flat plane. however, this technique also works perfectly on the topography, just to add some points as sub element to the floor to make it adjust to the topo.

I have always referred to your tutorials whenever I had doubts and it has helped me a lot. Could you please teach us how to play with levels. Like, I was working on a project that has ramps on the walkway, and I am confused whether to make the walkway by making a generic model or by splitting the surface.

Nice tutorial if we look it from visual side. If we look from information side, all surface elements that you've rised to have thickness will count as floor in schedules and the information will be wrong. Maybe you know if its possible to stop elelements counting in schedules? Or maybe it is possible to set different levels on different surfaces. I need to rise grass and sidewalk and design curb on asphslt without making things floors. 😔
@aalexg132 жыл бұрын
You should add something in the comment property like Include / Exclude and then filter it in or out in the schedule

Excellent, it can be helpful when sidewalks and roads have to be projected on flat surfaces. I'm looking for a way to model sidewalks with variable surfaces automatically from files created in civil softwares such Civil3D. Does anyone know how to do that in Revit?

Is there anybody else noticing the glaringly obvious contradiction here. Revit is supposed to be a modelling tool within a BIM scenario where the elements are supposed to be realistic as well as inteligent. To model an exterior artificially in order to let the project look "fine", is really counterproductive. It would have made more sense if reallistic base data is used to create a real life exterior and landscaping, for instance, real kerbs, correct gradients for the platform as well as the road. The above, although it is clear that the BA is an expert Revit operator, is akin to a children's playbook more concerned about the concepts than the realism of it. Again, Revit is supposed to be a tool to create realistic models of something that needs to be constructed. And it is at this level that Revit lacks the abilities to be realistic, it is more of "somewhat giving the impression" than the real thing. Hopefully the post-modern era would shed itself of this vagueness between realism and fantasy. And sooner, the developers of Revit.

Lance Morqueza I don't know but in india people are most used Google skechup or 3ds max. But i really love Revit .....
@lancemorqueza28706 жыл бұрын
@Mahesh Patel...thanks for your answer. Maybe Revit is not properly properly promoted in Indians market, that's why most of the people you encounter still using Google Sketchup o 3D Max. It seems Autodesk needs more effort to make Revit be known to Indian market.

Definitely quicker for building modelling than in Maya. Much more copy and paste style though.
