Have you ever thought where that sense of justice comes from? Why we feel that it's unfair what GA did to the chick and possibly to the first mother peregrine? Honestly, if we think about evolution and the idea of "survival of the fittest", the law says that GA survives while the first mother dies. Those are the rules of the game. The weak must die in order for the strongest of the species to propagate. There is no remorse. There is no sense of justice. That's how the rules of "survival of the fittest' work. And yet somehow, deep inside, we feel that it's unfair what GA did. Why do we even feel that way when evolution is just doing it's thing?

Human beings evolved with empathy, which allowed our ancestors to care for one another and therefore increase our chance of survival. It’s no longer about caring about our own survival, it also extends to other members in our family, and we have learned to also extend that empathy towards other species.
@Agrarius244 жыл бұрын
Cause we all have a sense of self preservation and it projects onto birds lol
@brav0wing4 жыл бұрын
It is called psychological projection. We project our humanity onto these birds. Human nature, though part of nature, has empathy, morals and remorse, thus a conscience. This human nature works, in a way, against the rules of nature and the survival of the fittest. It is what the alchemists called naturam contra naturam. Human beings don't usually go into other people houses, kill the family and then move into that house with their partners to start a new family and also without punishment from the law.
@anthony.catbagan4 жыл бұрын
@@Agrarius24 Thank you for your response, but think about term self preservation. We only think to preserve ourselves. If we are all about self preservation, then we don't care what happens to any one else and yet, somehow, we do care. Why do we care if we only care to preserve one's self?

I hope she does well, I find it strange how people hate her so much. It’s nature animals fight and kill over territory all the time so they can get the best spots to raise their own future families in. I had assumed most ppl watching this would of watched nature docs and seen animals like lions. New male lion(s) take over territory, kill any cubs under a certain age so the mothers come back into season, young males need to flee as seen as a threat or be killed. Even solo animals that keep territory ranges will fight over it GA is not the first falcon to fight and kill over a territory spot and won’t be the last. Unless there is plenty to go around this stuff happens. Those of you hoping GA is killed by another falcon, what it it’s still while she’s raising chicks and the new one does the same to the chicks that GA did? Does that new one become a hero as a avenger for the old mother or another monster for killing innocent chicks who’s only crime is that people have seen their mother fight to claim a territory? I know we get attached to animals but we can’t expect hold them to or behaviours as they’re wild animals and this is what they do when there’s competition, especially if there’s not enough to go around. Since the 2016 vid all other ones have so many negative comments towards GA and hoping this new mother dies because it’s karma and she deserves it. For what? Doing what animals do? If you feel this way here I’m afraid there a lot of animals ur going to want dead then..

I love birds and falcons are amazing creatures , but they are causing a big problem to pigeon fanciers I was keeping around 30 birds (highflyer pigeons) and most of them were 3 4 years old and hatched at my loft (they were like a dog or cat to me anyway). There are peregrines in my area and they hunt really often pigeons not much the wild ones . I lost a lot of birds but the most sad lost was a hen that was my favorite. Stopped keeping pigeons cause it's nature's law the predators must hunt to exist .
