I wanted to say thank you for this video. I got my nose pierced on Friday and when I woke up yesterday (Sunday) my nose ring was sunken in. I watched this video and took your advice and contacted my piercer. Being on a Sunday and the shop closed I didn’t think I would have this resolved until Tuesday. Anyway, my piercer told me to meet him at the shop ASAP and he switched out my nose ring. I needed a longer barbell and a slightly bigger top. The technique he used to switch it out did not cause me any pain. So if anyone here watching this video is having the same issue, please contact your piercer as soon as possible.

I got a helix done with a gun when I was 15! WORST. IDEA. EVER. I almost ended up with a permanently disfigurement!!! I got a very bad infection, extreme swelling and the surgeon I met with said I was extremely lucky to not end up with a cauliflower ear. SO grateful for educated piercers! I now have two more piercings that were done properly. And have healed beautifully with proper care! These are wonderful videos! Thank you! Xo

my piercer told me 1.) use saline spray (which they sold to me for $5) 2.) clean twice a day (if you shower use warm water carefully and that counts as cleaning it) 3.) don’t overclean, you don’t need to do it more that unless it’s “crusty 4.) use a paper towel or something disposable to avoid bacteria 5.) they made sure the bar on the back was longer to allow for swelling and told me to come back within x number of for them to make the bar shorter | so yeah that’s what i was told and it seems to match pretty well with what he said

And about 3 weeks ago someone caught on my nostril (I had the pressure disk still in and they ripped the disk out) and it seems to be healing, theres no bump or anything and it's not crusty BUT the tissue around it is somewhat red still? and idk if it's scarring or discolored permanently? Great video! But i did have a question. I’ve had my piercing for about a year and five months and i switched to a small nose bone stud and the inside of my nose closed. Would i have to get my nose re-pierced?

Can someone answer this from experience: how do you clean out dry boogers from a new piercing?!!! And If you sweat alot (during summer) does it effect the healing process?!??

I want to know what kind of piercing is recommended for a nostril (first time)?
@baddiiev3 жыл бұрын
He recommends a stud because you can always change it to a ring later. However if you pierce it with a ring first: - you’re at a higher risk for keloids and other infections - you have to choose larger nose rings because smaller nose rings can become extremely tight when it’s inflamed and cause more infections during the healing process - the piercing is done at an angle and will heal more curved than if you were to be pierced with a stud (which heels at a straight angle) which means studs will most likely sink or fall out

I got my nose pierced over a year ago. It seemed to be healed up so I decided to change my jewelry. Now, it hurts when I take the jewelry out. I don't have keloids or anything. Not sure what to do. I think I might just put back in the same nose ring as the one I got pierced with and just leave it in there for a while longer and keep cleaning it.

So I got my nosed pierced almost 3 months ago. They told me to clean it with the sea salt spray and or a sea salt soaks. But they also told me to use a q-tip get all the crusties around my piercing. Will my piercing okay even though I’ve used a q-tip on my piercing? I will go getting a short bar in my nose soon.

I used a q tip to clean the crusties, and it healed fine. Just make sure the fibers dont get caught around the jewelry.

I got my nose piercing a month ago now. 3 weeks after getting it pierced my nose stud/screw while I was cleaning it went down into my nose. It hurt so bad so I freaked out and pushed it back out, cleaned it and didn’t want it to go back in so I changed it to a hoop. Now I have an awful red bump outside of my nose, and a bigger bump inside my nose. The nose hoop flat back now doesn’t sit flush inside my nose. I never had this issue with my first nose piercing I wanted the double hoops or spider bite look.
@Tezzoe5 жыл бұрын
Taylor Gonzalez change it back to a stud and it should heal(will take months though). Hoops are never good for any piercings that arent fully healed.

What about the actual nose ring itself? Shouldnt you clean the metal in your nose?

No not until its healed, just leave it alone
@Miranda-gg7zl4 жыл бұрын
should be surgical steel or something similar. totally fine to leave it while it heals

I have been doing a lot of research to determine if I really want a nostril piercing or not, i love them and they are so cute but i just am scared it will get infected or fall out while i sleep. i have had my ears pierced before (no the piercer did not use a piercing gun..ick) so this isnt my first rodeo. how do you make sure it wont fall out when you are asleep? i have heard so many stories about it falling out in someones sleep and then they cant get the piercing back in. that might be my biggest fear about it at the moment.
@jadynmurvine61452 жыл бұрын
my piercer made sure the bar was long enough to allow for swelling (ask about this or make sure they talk about downsizing since you’re worried about this) and having jewelry that snaps on the back (as opposed to L-shaped or likewise) will make it really secure

I got my nose pierced and a ring put in. Wasn't sure of the metal but it wasn't titanium or surgical grade steel, had it in for 2/3mo. Now I have a slight grey discoloration around the piercing site from the metal oxidising and reacting with my skin, i've changed the ring now to a titanium one. Is this going to be permanent for my whole life like a tattoo ? Or is there something i can do to minimise or even get rid of it? Its not very noticeable but i can see it and its annoying me, i don't want a little grey spludge on my nose my whole life

Can i use gold/silver jewelry to start with?
@sydneyjordan42415 жыл бұрын
yes, make sure to use real gold or sterling silver
@shelbiemorris30815 жыл бұрын
mainly depends on what you're piercer has. and to make sure you arnt allergic to the gold and silver, I would mainly recremend using titanium
@serenarose38515 жыл бұрын
Steel or titanium is better because irritation is less likely

So I have a problem I have a keloid I saw you video about how to heal it I have had my nose piercing for 5 months and 3 weeks and I have been getting a keloid since May it did go away i did the salt water and it went away but it came back and I don't know how to stop getting them
@malisykes73575 жыл бұрын
You may not be able to stop them completely but tea tree oil is the best. I got a keloid on navel piercing and I used tea tree oil and saw results within the next two days

You may be getting then from knocking or moving your jewelry too much, especially if you have a hoop and accidentally spin it while cleaning it. I got rid of my keloid by putting a warm salt water soaked paper towel on it for 5 minutes a day while regularly cleaning it

Just got my nose pierced today and some blood has crusted under the piece. How should I remove dried blood? And how does it impact healing?
@kilyworang70875 жыл бұрын
hey i know that is comment is 2 weeks old and i'm hoping your piercing is on its way to a healthy healing, but you should soak the piercing for 10 minutes using a saline solution or you can make your own (make sure its non-iodized), and with a cotton swab, gently remove the dried blood. Picking it off could hinder healing, so just do the above, and otherwise, LITFA. hope that helps!
@jasonvictor17985 жыл бұрын
@@kilyworang7087 thanks for the reply! All the dried blood actually washed off with a hot shower. It's been good so far!
