In the projection booth is the film make up and break down bench and handle. When films were still shown on 35mm film they used to arrive at the cinema in 20 minute reels. The projectionist had to put the reels together to make up the feature film. The bench was also used to make up adverts and trailers.

Urbandoned My pleasure. I was a projectionist for over 20 years and what you filmed is now obsolete in cinemas. It’s all digital now. The lenses, if manufactured in Germany would have been worth a small fortune in their day and the various sizes is due to different film ratios. Nowadays, only two ratios is used 1.85 and 2.35 (Scope)

Wow I've never seen some of the areas of the building, stunning. It was opened in 1931 and named the ABC and then changed name to The Forum in the 70s and then again in the 80s to it's final name The Cannon until it's closure in 1998. The last film I ever watched there was Interview with the Vampire in 1995!🧛‍♂️ Great explore, thanks for the vid.👍😊

Guys that was an absolutely phenomenal explore! One of my faves 💖💖I love the 1930's art deco style and to see the detail & colours in the arcitecture was outstanding. If only it could be bought back to working order today as a theatre it would be just awsome. Thanks again for sharing & look forward to the next one when you can :)
