First house was built in the mid 1800’s, lots of updates and additions over the years the second house was built in the early 1900’s and the final ruins are from an old plantation house in North Carolina Thanks for watching

The 2nd house definately looks worth saving, loved all the dark wood & old doors & fixtures & hardwood floors.Roof must have been good, looked dry inside, upstairs looked great! Hope someone saves it!

Urban explore hint: when the basement door has a key in the lock, remove that key before heading down so no one can shut and lock the door once you’ve gone down. Always better safe than sorry.

This almost looks like the house from the Conjuring. Lol! The newer houses aren’t built to stand the test of time like these older homes were. These homes are beautiful. Thanks for sharing Kappy! Your dedication is endless and is much appreciated. 😊

I love the built in cupboard, old hardware on the doors, big fireplaces and the shiplap, the good ole days. Things were built to last, it was about pride and quality, not about manufacturing things cheap and quick for more money. Thank you Kappy for the adventures you take us on. I'd love to be rich and save some of these treasures

Thanks Kappy ! Some great old homes . Two reasons why houses were built up off the ground . To try to keep termites from entering and just like us houses need to breathe , they live just as we do . Humans and trees have the same DNA . How cool is that !? Another enjoyable video ! Later ,,,,,,

The second house was my fav as while it did have some updates all the character of the home was not all removed. The first place did have one room with some cool wood . Both of these homes are still inhabitable. That last house thought is so sad and whoever built it must be turning in their grave to see it in this state . You are right it probably does not have much more time left before nature totally reclaim’s the home and land it sits on . With so many homeless people I don’t understand how the cities these homes reside in do not purchase the homes and turn them into low cost rentals or just rentals.

Oh, I like the first house! It reminds me of the tiny toll keeper house on York road near the Baltimore city/county line. Someone remuddled the house though, but I saw it years before, creepy small rooms, big old fireplace in main room. Tiny bedrooms with teeny dormers and low ceilings on 2nd floor. I wish I had pics from then, but back then you had to remember to bring your camera and have film. It didn't cross my parents' minds to bring a camera. The house was built 1820 I think. Was all farms back then, but York rd was a toll road, supposedly following an old Indian trail. Since you are from Bmore, you may know the location in some way.

It’s too bad these houses are being left to rot. Someone could fix them up and sell them. Don’t worry about people who get annoyed if you didn’t check something out. Sometimes you can’t or don’t feel comfortable. I’m all right with that. Just as long as you’re ok.

Wow! TY for the journey into glimpses of real and personal history your wanderings and images provide! Your steady hand with the camera is most appreciated. Witnessing the footings on that third house and seeing the rather skeletal remains offers precious insight to how that house was built! We seldom get to consider these houses that way! I wonder if that 'moat' didn't have a bad (and inconvenient!) habit of flooding. Thanks again!

The first old home was in really decent shape looked like a little work on the inside and someone could move in . I love that stone foundation and the ship lap on the walls made the home have a southern feel . Shame about the outside though . The little tan home is so cute from the outside !! I love that little back stairway !! And those built in cabinets WOW !! Cool old piano this is such a clean little house !!! A little cleaning and such and it would be good to go !! Look at that basement wow. Why is this abandoned ? And it had forced air as well . Such a terrible shame . The last homè was really rough man no floor. I swore I heard someone say "hello" or "nope" when you were standing in what would have been the crawl space might have been a response to when you said " no roof anymore " it was really clear ......fast but clear it was right after you said "cool old bricks" I went back and listened to it again and I heard it again . Did you hear anything Kappy ? Wow I loved the pictures at the end I love when you throw in stuff like this sooooo cool !! Like the desert at end of a AWESOME meal !! Kappy you rock !! 👍👍

Hi Kappy! How are you? I loved the 1st house's kitchen sink! And the 2nd house's kitchen. White & aqua so pretty. I loved that there were the skeleton keys still in the doors- wow! What a very pretty and homey and comfortable house. Are all three houses on the same land? I am confused about that. But wow that creek and lake are so beautiful I can't believe nobody's wanting to live there and fix up house 1 or 2. What a peaceful place. P.s. Thanks for going into the basement! It looked daunting- you are always so brave!

Awesome old houses. No bathroom in the first? I saw a cool video on Absolute History that told the story of staircases in the home and how they became standardized. In the Victorian era the main staircase was made wide and large to indicate your wealth. But the secondary stairs were built any old way and were notorious for accidents. This was in England but looking at stairs in these old places it does appear the main staircase is the most well made. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

The first house was clearly built over a long time. It was sturdily constructed, though. I liked the large central room. The last one was so strange, with no floors. Makes me wonder if that creek flooded and the floors rotted from being wet for a while, or even repeatedly.
