Beautiful Historic old house that was actually built in 1750. 20 some years before the Declaration of Independence was created! Don’t want to give too much history away too protect the location but was originally built for a well to do family in the upper middle class. Unfortunately the house has sat empty since the the 60’s-70’s so it’s been decades of neglect and ruin. Still had so many incredible antiques and beautiful woodwork inside. The rosette over the doors were especially unique along with the design along the staircase. Thanks for watching

Thank you for doing this house! I’m dying over the beds and other antiques that should be saved. Definitely extremely old. The thickness of the walls, the corner fireplaces… I love this one! I’m glad you braved the upstairs too. Stunning place!

A really, really neat house. This might be the oldest/most unmolested combination of a house you've ever shown us. It looks like it never had electricity, bathrooms or running water. An experienced couple might be able to save it, but they would need to get the house and a few acres for very little money, and probably have an architect in the family. Thanks for showing it to us.

This is exactly what I was thinking. There are no "modern" facilities at all. It seems to be completely original including much of the furniture. It really should be preserved if not restored to original and be a museum. Such a fascinating look at history.

This house is very early and very primitive. Original architectural elements, original wall and trim colours. It’s too bad there’s so much rubble and collapsed floors because it detracts from the ambiance of the rooms. I really don’t think that the state of this house exemplifies people living there in the 40’s though. I don’t see one item that looks like it’s from the 40’s. It looks like it’s been not lived in since the late 18 hundreds if not earlier.

What a wonderful find Kappy. Just heartbreaking to see it falling to ruin. The rock work was done by a master, I loved the arch doorway in the basement. To see the gorgeous antique furniture rotting away is devastating. It is just so hard to believe that whomever owns these pieces of history just lets them rot. The furniture alone cleaned up would bring a small fortune to them.

As rough shape as this house is in, I still think it would be a dream to save. (this would probably take someone’s life long devotion). I loved the quirkyness of the room layout, the wide plank floors and work work, not to mention all the cool furniture left behind. It just has so much character. At 4:18 the sofa you showed I believe is called a recamier. Of all your videos this is in the top 10 favorite houses. Many thanks again, Kappy for a great video!!

Oh, Kappy, you've outdone yourself this time! From that old kitchen with the wood burning stove, we can tell this house is something special! That cabinet grand piano must have been the pride of the valley. I can imagine folks crowding around it for a Saturday Evening Singing. That room with its huge fireplace must have fairly rung with their voices! This was a happy house! What a lovely banister! The graceful sweep of it's handrail belies a master Craftsman at work! A pump organ! How delightful! That is a very early Singer, too! This house is simply filled with superlatives, with lovely antiques in every corner! I would have paid to be there with you, Kappy, seeing them for myself! Dear Lord, son, PLEASE walk carefully in houses this old! I'd hate to see you fall through a floor! That is a rope bed! Now that IS old! A letter from 1941. We were watching what was going on in Europe, safe in America. We were so very different then. Well, that explains the strange noises we heard! Mrs. Vulture has claimed this attic as her own nursery. Watch out, now, Kappy! Remember what baby vultures do when they're disturbed! Yuck! Ah, the basement...it has such beautiful stonework. Great house, overall. I'm glad it has survived the decades, if not centuries. This one's going on the greatest houses list, no doubt about it! Good find, Kappy. Great explore, vulture notwithstanding. I was proud of you, son, facing that bird down. Thanks for another beautiful house, interesting antiques and a wildlife tour, all at once. Good on you!

This house is remarkable, simply because it looks about as original as can be. An early, early home, it looks like nothing has changed since it was first built. Original wall colour or lack there of. Wide plank floors, primitive cupboards. Rope beds!!! Very early. No signs of any remotely modern pieces except the old enamel wood stoves. Just a thrill to see this! Thank you so much , Kappy!

The sad state the furniture is in makes most of it look irreparable, although it seems a majority of the pieces are there. Wow Kappy thx so much for showing this house I bet you got some amazing stills your photography has become so creative lately! This house had so many antiques that fit with the age of the house as if it had never been touched and there were no hints of modern times!!

It looks like a bathroom was never added. Maybe no plumbing or electricity, ever. It must've been abandoned for a long time.

Just judging by some of the random things that were left behind I'd say probably was finally abandoned in the mid-to-late 1940s. Even in those days there were still Rural houses that didn't have plumbing or electricity.

@@1927su out here in the south..... abandoned houses this old that have been abandoned this long are few and far between (because most of them rot to the ground really quickly). But stone houses like this are EVERYWHERE up north. Pennsylvania has a ton of them like this. And in most of the seriously rural areas....you won't find them all graffitied up! Unlike down here in Virginia the kids always tend to trash them. 🤦‍♀️

Does anyone know why the yarn was looped to the upstairs doors? With the condition of the downstairs, I was surprised the upstairs was in so much better shape. Woodwork was gorgeous.

My guess is to keep the doors from closing? Perhaps the locks don’t work correctly and the doors lock when they’re closed? Maybe to keep someone from being accidentally locked in a room?

Really nice to see a house in its original state though very weathered with it’s beautiful antiques pieces. Love the piano. I was fortunate once to play one exactly like that at an Italianate mansion from the 1850’s in Mobile when touring it. The woman asked if anyone could play and I could. Was a real thrill to play it. Surprised that she let me. Generally can’t sit on or touch anything on these tours.

That piano has some great legs. I think that you're 150 pounds isn't going to cause the floors to suddenly cave in. But I get the hesitation. I was walking towards an abandoned house when I was 16 and all of a sudden heard a rattler. I stepped backwards and yelled for my brother and dad to bring the gun. It was a cool old house and had such neat old appliances and fixtures.

Wow! October 1941! Just a few months before December 7th 1941, the bombing of Pearl Harbor! Just a little history!!! I took care of an old man for 22 years and he just passed away on January 2nd 2023. He was 92 years old & was 11 years old when Pearl Harbor was bombed. He heard it announced in school, and he and his family listened to news on the radio !He remembered it like it was yesterday!
