I'm a comms installer and splicer. I've not worked in this one but many like it. I'm amazed that you could get in, usually they are secured and its a right faff to get access.

Honestly that kid is a great penetration tester without even realizing it from the looks of it, could possibly even turn it into a business.

Next time you come to Cardiff I recommend filming TFW's Class 756 Stadler FLIRTs, as well as the Cardiff Bus Yutong E12 electric buses - up to you of course

Love your videos mate, I really hope you are using a GDU when you are in these tunnels, we are not allowed anywhere near them without one for a multitude or reason. Stay safe 🙏

GDU=Gas Detection Unit ?
@dariansprenkels2303Ай бұрын
Doesn't look like a gdu is needed in those tunnels considering the ventilation system it has. System likely has an alarm to evacuate if the ventilation fans go down and is less likely to be affected by power outages considering it's communication infrastructure.
@lmaoroflcopterАй бұрын
@dariansprenkels2303 having worked in tunnels much like this and had a GDU alarm go off multiple times, you'd be surprised. Ventilation is not the same across all spaces and it looks like the lads went into some specific areas that literally state an explosives atmosphere detector is required for entry. They also look at other tunnels not so well maintained, if they're carrying a GDU for those tunnels, may as well carry one for this one. If they're not carrying one for those tunnels, they may want to consider getting one.

Perhaps there should have been an underground metro system that Cardiff would have had with some of the tunnels to be reinstated as part of Cardiff Crossrail.

I don't think "bunker" is the appropriate term for this tunnel system. Edit: I can't reply. It's a tunnel system, also you gave yourself that like.

What should it be called then?
@gustavgnoettgenАй бұрын
@S-CB-SL-Animations To bad, my reply seems to be gone. I shall repeat: You gave that like yourself + lol; Also it's a tunnel system.

I’m sorry if this is a weird question, but has anything happened to your update on skyscrapersim? I haven’t been interested on the topic of it or just lifts in general for a while, (since like late 2022) and I’m not trying to put any pressure on you I’m just interested and a bit behind on everything.

Epic. The Birmingham Anchor bunker is the ultimate though.

Is this an actual Cold War bunker or is it just a telecoms tunnel ? Or was is refurbished war bunker ? Obviously this kind of infrastructure is critical so quite difficult to get in there and you can't stay in there for long.
@lmaoroflcopterАй бұрын
Cardiff is (at least it used to be) a major communications hub for BT. They're just telecoms tunnels.

Everyone, hear me out, because I got 5 questions. (these are for ALL VIEWERS WATCHING THIS VIDEO, NOT JUST BENO) 1. What is your guys favourite lift? 2. If there was any lift company you could force-shutdown, which one would you pick? 3. What is your guys LEAST favourite lift? 4. (for the lift community) What got you inspired into riding lifts, and if you have, what has inspired you to make lifts video(s)? 5. If there was any lift you could bring back, which discontinued one would you revive? MP1: My favourite lift was an old lift (keighley?) in Glasgow's Savoy Centre. (both gone, RAHHHH) MP2: DMG, OBVO MP3: (you guys are SO NOT GOING TO BELIEVE ME) KONE (now stannah) EcoDisc lift at Hobbycraft, Union Sq. (oh, ALSO ALL THE LIFTS IN EVERY NEXT (except some of the non-generics in some NEXT stores) MP4: I found lifts extremely fun, and I made my first long-form lift vid a while ago, in 2024, which was my *edited lift tour* video. MP5: Schindler M-Lines, and the old lift in the bon accord centre. (YES, THERE WAS AN OLD LIFT IN BON ACCORD UNTIL IT WAS RIPPED OUT)
@noblenumbatАй бұрын
1. Mitsubishi hands down. Schindler M-Series is second though. 2. Generic lift companies (especially the VERY cheap Chinese ones) 3. Aside generic lift companies, present day Otis. Maybe Schindler 3300 as well. 4. As a kid I got interested into lifts. In fact Beno was one of the first channels I used to watch, and still kind of do religiously. Much of my information about lifts I have gained from him, aside from personal research and observation. That said now it's much less of a hobby and I am now focused more on tech, which had been my main interest. I do lift photography, though I don't post them online to social media. Nor do I do KZbin. I do contribute to Elevation Wiki though. 5. No specific lift as such; though overall I would like companies to take a page from Mitsubishi's book and make well-built lifts like how they did in the past (looking at you Otis). Also stop pushing MRLs into tall buildings as well. IMO MRLs should be limited to 15 floors.
