Just gorgeous though - so sad that it's gone - that room with all the shelves in it - a lovely library with a fireplace! - but as you said, the grounds - just breathtaking and so expansive - you're right - it will all be cardboard cutout copy subdivision houses after this or some boxstores. what a sad end to a beautiful historic house and all the trees and loveliness it once had.

P.S. It appears the last owner was too old to live alone, for whatever reason. Be aware, this happens to too many people who have not left a legal will. Someone did a great job of cleaning out the meaningful items of the last owner. BEAWARE! If you own any property, get a will! Even if your in your in your early 20's. Get your will. Forgive my typo's. Stay safe, everyone!

The property is so beautiful❤️ Great first Fireplace I saw. Awesome ceiling light in bathroom off of kitchen. WOW on the Storage Spaces Everywhere! Any idea when this was built? The more large trees the Developer would keep would mean more money for each house they put in there. I read about this several months ago in our local paper. I sent the article to Abandoned SC as I follow him as well. My heart aches when I see the destruction of history like this. The virtual crap they build these days will never last as long as this beauty. The craftsmanship has been lost and that garbage chipboard is in. Don't you just wish you could catch these vandals in action? BTW nice to see a photo of you! :-)

When I moved to my neighborhood 36 years ago on LI,NY there where lots of small homes with large property,they have since torn them down and built MC MANSIONS close together,the owners go in their garages and you never see them again only when they leave in the morning , we used to have a neighborhood where the kids played together and people at least talked to each other now nothing,VERY SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the little kitchen like room next to large kitchen was usually called a "butler's kitchen" in these older houses. That house was a beauty!! Such a shame vandals feel it is appropriate to damage property whether it be vacant, abandoned or still lived in.

Even as the house was, it was still so beautiful. I bet in its day it was loved and well taken care of. It is a sad reality though of these Beautiful homes that could be fixed up being replaced by cookie cutter houses, condominiums, and malls. All for the sake of profit. Thank you for doing this home.

It is such a beautiful home and the property is gorgeous, the birds are just singing and the pond is so peaceful. I love the patio. The good outweighs the bad in watching these kind of videos but it just breaks my heart to see that gorgeous staircase torn apart, do they not have any beauty in their hearts? Wow! I love all of the shelves and that rounded couch, I could probably fill all of those shelves up! with books and other things. I was not disappointed to see shelves in the basement.:> Thanks for sharing, this was a little rough with all of the nasty stuff but you handled it well.

Pam this is one of my favorite finds so far. I love all the books shelves and storage that house has. I'm sure it was a grand house when people lived in it. I wish they would let habitat for humanity go in and save some of the old wood work, windows and anything that could be used again. I will never understand what causing destruction does for a vandal. If they were to have their personal items vandalized the way that they destroy others things maybe they'd think twice about coming into someone's home or even these abandoned homes and just ripping them to shreds. Thanks again for the video, I had actually not seen this video when I found your channel. So I had watched almost all of your other videos and refreshed the page and here it is. I'm actually in the middle of watching, but I got so furious that I just had to come and put some words down before the escaped my train of thought. This was such an amazing home. Everything about the architecture of the place I loved. Such a shame for whatever reason it was abandoned and got into this shape. It makes me so very sad. Thank you for posting the link to the newstory about the history of the house, it was nice to see the photos of the house in its glory. I think the owners when they sold it 'presumed' the next owner would respect the place like they did, so sad the the didnt have it registered to protect it before they sold it. That was a grand house, and it perfect shaped in 2009. (The house of shelves, is my favorite now :) )

Thank You Pam for another amazing find. I love that house; so beautiful, the landscape is so great. I love the bay windows. The back patio would be perfect, I could live there looking over the landscape, reading books on the patio; then when the mosquitoes started biting I could go to the screened in porch upstairs... that would be a beautiful view from there. The best one I think, this is my favorite but then every time you video at a property, I think it's my favorite lol but then this one I think is really my favorite. They're all my favorite but I really like this one. I've come across a lot of graffiti with just profane talk which is commonplace in these places, but here, It was mainly nasty pornographic sprayed images. I have families who sit down to watch my videos with their children, so I had to keep that audience in mind.

that pump you saw was an old piston pump for the water system. it was the type used prior to modern deep well pumps or jet pumps.

I did my first exploration of a old abandoned swimming pool, situated on a holiday camp in the UK, I was in their taking photos and I was discovered by two employees of the holiday site and escorted out and security was called. I explained i just wanted to take photos and they found it quite amusing, but I felt awful for the rest of my holiday and very guilty (another employee let me in as told him I was interested and I was so worried he would get told off, even though I told them I found my own way in, I was worried they would check the security tapes and see him let me in) so ever since I'm back to just exploring with you as it's safer and I don't get the horrible guilty feeling I still get when thinking about my summer holiday! I am from London, Ontario and would see this beautiful house between the trees while driving down the Fanshawe rd. The history and beauty of the land was amazing. It was disappointing to drive past one day to only see the house was completely gone... I thought maybe someday I'd tour the property as you did. I was hoping to one day see the home being restored, and wondering why the house had been neglected, although the time I was too young to know it had been purchased by developers. A few years ago I watched this video and searched deeper online as to why the house had been taken down, but the property still remains the same after all this time, the trees actually are protected! Such a shame it was too late to save the incredible house, now the property just sits. Love this house, Thank you for sharing!

So sad to see the demolition of another century home - along with such beautiful fir trees. Based on a similar home belonging to distant relatives up north, I'd guess it was built about 1850 . That house still survives (for the time being). Like you, I can't understand what drives vandals to destroy a home, and glad you censored the graffiti - video is much better without it. Wasn't it surprising not to see home-made preserves in the basement? First time Ever!

Regarding the post before me, I much prefer abandoned houses than hospitals or industry, only because there is a lot more mystique and wonder regarding the families that lived in their sacred homes once upon a time. What was life like for them? Were they happy, or experience tragedy or illness? So many thoughts and questions to ponder as you go through these homes...

I felt some anticipation when you made the statement that you'd "missed something"...and you were right. I was waiting to get a look at that upstairs screened in porch. It didn't look like there was a door anywhere in the rooms you looked at (well, that one entire room was blocked out due to the porn graffiti) but I sure had my heart set on seeing that upstairs porch. Out here, in California, there are a lot of screened in porches (Florida rooms, etc) but they are mostly on the ground floor. Its rare to see an upstairs "sleeping porch" and was so looking forward to it. Well, I'm sure there's a lot on your mind when you're in an abandoned place, like who or what might jump out at you, if an angry owner or cops will show up, etc. so it's not that big of a deal. It's more heartbreaking to see a glorious home like this being trashed and ultimately demolished. I don't understand what is wrong with people, so casually eliminating history only to replace it with literal garbage structures that no one is even going to care about when they are torn down in 20 years. So very sad. I don't see why the property owners didn't just restore the house, get it on the national registry then rent it for an ungodly amount of money like they do some houses here...then downsize the lot by selling parcels while saving the original home. It may be about money, but some people let greed make them utterly stupid...apparently. This house didn't have to go and if someone had played it smart, it wouldn't have been demolished. Dumb, greedy jerks!

Looked like a water pump on a sandpoint water system. We used to be able to pump water from the ground and the water table, before we polluted the water and had to have it treated.
