Guist Cricket Pavilion - built in 1907 and used until 1930's, the old cricket ground is now a farmers field, the building is falling to bits fast and I suspect with the recent removal of trees around it that it will soon be taken down
Guist Lime Kiln - from information on records it was built somewhere between 1814 and 1846, there is record of a lime burner at the Swan Pub (you'll see a quick view as we walk past it!) in 1836 and 1854 (not sure when it was built but there are records of it being sold including the like-kiln and lime-house on 21 April 1788, was called the 'Black Swan' in 1883 census. it was finally closed and de-licensed in 1983. it was derelict in 1996 and repaired in 1999.). Its situated in an old lime pit ( recorded as far back as 1785) next to the church and opposite the Swan Public House. It was still working in 1885 but can't find a closure date. Its unusual is shape as it is circular with a funnel shape pot. From the top you can see in due to the roof collapse.
Broom Green Primative Methodist Chapel - This Capel was built after the congregation could no longer meet in the house where they had been meeting for many years. The motto on the wall -'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved' can still be fade-out on the plastered wall. The memorial stone was laid 13 June 1886 by Mrs Stebbings and Mrs Martin, the new church cost £148.4.11 1/2d. it regularly had 50 people regularly attending. The Chapel was well known for its choir and brass band. By 1950's the congregation had become very small, it closed before 1970 and in 1976 it was labelled on maps as disused.

Yes it is in guist. Cross the road opposite the post office and you’ll see a gap off the path that drops down into the trees. You should be able to see it from the path ( that goes toward the church)
