In good truth what really matter is the final result and there is no incorrect way (unless you cheat with software) to do it. I normally tell people that Photography is like racing. The needs and way of a Formula 1 racer are completely different from the needs and way of a Marathon racer. however both of them want to get to the finish line first. With photography is exactly the same. A wedding photographer cannot go to a event and do 2 or 3 shots, as well as a Large Format photographer will not go to a mountain range and do 250 shots expecting that one of them be "ok´ish"...Photography is a really spread-out wide universe. For instance, I have no need for a 800mm prime lens, but my neighbour, who could be a wild life shooter, might not leave to work without one :)
