The mattresses on the floor are still a common thing. Basically, it's a quiet room where unruly patients are placed until the cool down. There would be a mattress on the floor and nothing else so they can't hurt themselves.

I know it’s probably weird to comment on a video this old but I just want to say I’m glad this channel is so respectful of these places and what happened there. My 3x great grandmother died in a facility like this, though luckily she got much better treatment than was the norm for that time. It’s refreshing to see someone appreciate more than the “LETS FIND SOME GHOSTS”.

Great explorer. I love the abandoned medical videos. The dentist set-up reminded me of when I used to visit the Dentist as a child. The round glass bowl is called a cuspidor or a spitoon and was used (in the past) to spit in. The arm extended from the wall was used for Xrays. The end was placed up against your cheek and an Xray would be taken with the press of a button. So, happy to see a chic having her own channel. If I were younger this would certainly be my dream job. I would take full advantage of every opportunity to document and explore abandoned buildings. Being much older and a women, I've chosen to explore abandoned ghost towns. Good luck. Great job.

It’s because abandoned places are indeed abandoned and not taken care of, but someone still owns the property, and it is actually considering braking and entering to go in these places since they are privet property. Of which, is illegal. So they don’t want to be seen in case there is security If they get caught they can be sentenced to prison.
