Kenworth T800 Hood Repair Kit

The damage to Kenworth T800 hood pockets is very common.
Polyvance's "Kenworth Hood Repair Kit" will allow you to repair the damaged horseshoe-shaped hood pockets on your Kenworth T800 for a fraction of the cost of replacing your damaged Kenworth T800 hood.
The "Kenworth T800 Hood Repair Kit" contains:
* One pair of aluminum hood pocket reinforcement plugs.
* One pair of steel reinforcement plates.

Scott B I’m having to custom fab brackets on my T880 as the inside of the hood that holds the strut bracket has completely cracked. It’s a disaster. I’m sure I’m not the only one this happened to.

If i still have the broken off section of the hood can i use that instead of filling with plastifix

You could bond it back in and use it as a filler piece as long as you bevel the edges to a point and aggressively sand the surfaces so they will bond to the aluminum casting and the reinforcing plate. You would also want to make sure it is 100% covered with PlastiFix before sandwiching it between the repair parts and make sure any air gaps are filled with PlastiFix.

My 94 t800 split fender hood is rubbing against the fender bad!! It looks as if the hood isn’t wide enough where it sits to the Fender and is cracking the fender and rubbing out my hood where it meets the fender. You or anyone ever seen this happen? I’m starting to wonder if the hood was repaired by previous owner and when they fiberglassed the hood it pulled in too tight cause I cannot see how I can get the hood to stop rubbing except for a new hood and fenders

Send a couple of photos of the inside of the hood and both sides of the area that's rubbing (if you can get to it), to info @ polyvance.com and I will take a look to see if i can see what's going on.

What dual gun did you use?

Its a 3m 1:1 ratio dual cartridge gun, but any 1:1 dual cartridge gun with at least a 200 ml capacity will work. I think the one we used can hold up to a 300 ml cartridge.
