There are an abundance of spring ephemerals along the section of the mason dixon trail that follows the river. It is beautiful at that time of year. The building is used by the york hiking club who does a lot of the maintenance of this trail.

That robin is looking at you like "What are you doing here? It's not people season!"

Enjoy these winter hikes! It's nice to be able to see into the woods with the vegetation gone. You can see the slope of the terrain and what might be hidden in there. That stone house would be a beautiful place to live. Thanks Cliff. 😊

29:00; That's a Robin. Your talking about Robins reminded me of a story. A man showed me a cherry tree in his yard at about the same time of year with snow on the ground. The cherries were stuck to the tree and were fermented. There were a whole bunch of Robins eating the cherries until they passed out. They'd fall and the snow would revive them and up they'd go again. This was Michigan.

Thank you for taking us along. A back injury has put the Kabash on my hiking for a couple years but Following your videos has spurred me on to get in good enough condition to get back out there. 👍🐿️

Amazingly beautiful. Looked like you were out west somewhere. Maybe you could kayak to the island in the summertime. Stay healthy and safe.

Nice one! I agree the overlook would be a nice spot to experience bird migration, they use rivers to guide their journey. Nice explanation of what robins do in the winter, there was probably a bunch of berry laden shrubs in that area. I looked up the island you can see from the overlook, it is called Weise Island. Sad to see the memorial crosses along the road. Thanks again, Patrick

We often see robins in our woods in the winter, eating spicebush berries.

Really nice hike with the lovely creek. Yes, we have robins in the winter; they like the spicebush berries.

What a great hike! I love snow covered creeks. Some of those scenes looked like the scene behind my house. Too bad you haven't had the chance to use the snow shoes. Im anxious to see them in action. I saw cross country skiers the other day on the rail trail behind my house. I hope you found the crampons by now. Your 4 wheel jeep should've flew right out of there. Stay safe as always ❤❤❤❤

i believe that farmhouse and surrounding property was owned by the Urey family back in the day. Today, I think it is owned by the Conservation Society of York County .They had a little system of hiking trails that used to wind around the property, the last I knew

A few years ago an Amish farmer was hauling hay to his farm, as he descended that hill on rt.425 his steel wheeled tractor slid out of control and crashed into the trees on the curve killing him, his wife, and 3 of his children which were riding on the wagon.

I know you wear a hat but don’t your ears get cold? I have to wear a hood or earmuffs. I’m ok with the cold as long as I keep my fingers and ears warm. Thanks for another hike.
