I haven't heard this in many years. I`d forgotten how good this was and how emotional it is.

The members grew up in post war England where the scars of the bombings of The Battle Of Britain were fresh on the streets, in the families, and in the hearts and minds. It's the pain of loss, the hurt that comes with healing, and the percived guilt of survival.

Early Uriah Heep is as good as anything out there

As a teenage rocker, like so many are, I always dismissed this song, so it’s good to hear it again many moons later. Thanks for saying what the lyrics are about, Tre.

@@Splitshot1 Guessing you've watched the live version of Paradise/The Spell that they did with Hensley back in the line-up (for just one show) somewhere around 2004-2005. Too bad only Mick Box is left now from the "classic" line-up. Before he OD'd, Gary Thain was a seriously kick-ass bassist, and before his drinking killed him, David Byron was one of the great voices in rock. Demons and Wizards is one of the great albums of the early '70's. First concert I ever went to was in early '73....Uriah Heep, Savoy Brown, Elf (Ronny James Dio's first band), and some other guys going by the name of the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils.

I've discovered Uriah Heep through this channel, love them. Content-wise this one a bit dated maybe.
