Two pieces of history made tonight. On Aug. 10, the Tigers were 55-63 and had a 0.2% chance to make the playoffs. They have now broken a 10 year playoff drought by going 31-11 since. With this victory tonight it also secured the Chicago White Sox the worst record in MLB history with there 121st lost of the season. Truly a showcase of opposite ends of a baseball season.

@evanrox1 It's more of a kink in the rules if anything. If a team isn't part of MLB's revenue-sharing, they can't pick in the lottery two years in a row. White Sox are the example in this class, unfortunately. Oakland can't pick in the top ten either, but they're part of revenue-sharing (they've had a lotto pick past two years and that's the max there.) Luckily for Chicago, the 2025 crop of prospects isn't the best (I'd say its slightly worse than 2024's class.) 2026, meanwhile, looks absolutely loaded and on par with 2023's class already. At least they won't be hampered by rules then!

Here's some perspective on just how pathetic this is - the Pirates had no winning seasons for 20 years. Their first winning season in my life was when I was 17. Their worst WP in that time was .352. Our worst since was the COVID year at .317. Aside from that, the worst we've had since our recent playoff years was .377. The White Sox are sitting at .244 with one game left. They are SO BAD that even us Pirates fans are sitting here feeling bad for them. You have PIRATES fans thinking you're a pathetic franchise. How do you make that happen?!

I'd arguably say the 2024 White Sox are worse. At least the 0-16 Lions team had Calvin Johnson playing his A-game despite the crap happening around him, and that the 0-16 Browns actually had a good Offensive Lineman in Joe Thomas and some very good draft picks afterwards to get Baker Mayfield and Myles Garrett. As Tree said, the Draft Lottery rules differ in the MLB. This Chicago team is rock bottom.

As a Cleveland fan , I don’t feel bad for the team. But good God, the fans do not deserve this. The WS have a great fan base. This is not on them. This isn’t even on the players or coaches. This is purely the fault of ownership. How do you possibly screw up this much, this badly. This team was supposed to win the central the past couple years. How do you go from division favorites to the literal worst team ever in not even 5 years. Sell the damn team. Like I said, not the fans fault. Only ownership.

The Spiders had an excuse, too. Their owners bought the Cardinals out of bankruptcy that year and sent all the talent to the Cardinals and replaced them with nobodies. They are the reason you're not allowed to own 2 teams now.

My 2 favorite moments were missed. 1. When Ozzie Guillen said "Who'd want you?" to players thinking they were gonna be traded at the deadline. 2. When the second baseman was standing on the base but wasn't paying attention at got hit by the catcher's throw between innings. And I don't blame you for missing either. So much to choose from.
