I don't think drafting is easy, but I don't think not making horrible choices is hard to do. I think a lot of people could be good at drafting so long as they just used their brain and had basic levels of restraint. As for finding gems in later rounds... That's extremely difficult and why so few GMs do it on a regular-basis.

@@sneersh9107 I don't think people, at least the competent and honest ones, see a team taking a chance on an uber-talented player as a "bad pick," just either the player not working out or the coaches not doing their job. So like Taco Charlton was just an awful pick in every way imaginable. And maybe also another similar set of videos where you dive into the winners and losers of each super bowl & how their next 4-5 seasons went? Like a " _Revisiting the 20XX Super Bowl_ " series. I can think of quite a few ones that would be cool to see, and I'd love to see your take on them. - 2016 - *Broncos vs. Panthers:* Last hurrah for Peyton and the beginning of mediocrity for Denver, and a slow slide to irrelevance for Carolina. Neither team has won in the playoffs since this game. - 2017 - *Patriots vs. Falcons:* In which Atlanta kickstarted their legacy of failure & never recovered. Meanwhile NE made it to the next two super bowls, and made the playoffs every year except 2020 And so on. Just a random thought I had while watching.

I have such fond memories of this draft. As a Kansas City fan, I was used to my team never picking the guy they should get. With the exception of Eric Berry, Kansas City fans are used to being disappointed in our draft for the most part. I started talking about getting Patrick Mahomes back in 2015. After I saw him on a highlight reel of crazy passes. I started looking into him and found how amazing he was. I immediately started talking about us drafting him in the forums and on social media. Regrettably, every fan minus my brother, called me an idiot and acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about. Needless to say all of those people have apologized to me since 🤣. Seriously while watching that draft and after seeing us trade up in the draft I thought to myself, “well, I wonder who we’re going to pick over Mahomes and I wonder what team is gonna win a championship with Mahomes when he could’ve been ours. And then we picked him 😳. I couldn’t believe it. I literally was speechless for a good 45 seconds before I was able to muster up a scream of excitement. I couldn’t believe we finally made OUR pick.

I'm really glad you decided to do another Revisit video of the NFL drafts. I really enjoyed the one you did last year. Since the 2017 draft was the one you covered, now with this video, people can do comparisons between that video and this video now. Also, as a Bills fan, Tre'davious White has been outstanding for the Bills. For being the first pick of the Mcdermott era (as Beane was hired after whaley was axed after the draft), they hit it out of the park. He was definitely missed when he went down last season with injury. Based on what's being said, his treatment is going well and hopefully he'll be back to his great self, perhaps even better.

With the Niners blowing two first rounders it’s surprising they did so well later one Kittle and Jones were great
@Pokemonmaster150b2 жыл бұрын
Niners love getting studs in the mid-late rounds. Kittle, Jones, Warner, Deebo, Greenlaw, Jauan, Hufanga, Mitchell, Purdy etc.

I really like this Draft Revisiting thing, I hope he does this for more past drafts say 2015 2012 and so on & so back. It's always nice to see hindsight

It's always interesting to look back on drafts and analyze them....also, maybe the first time I ever heard Trent Green called a "franchise quarterback"
@UrinatingTree2 жыл бұрын
In Kansas City terminology, Trent Green was a franchise QB. The next best QB's in their timeline were Alex Smith, two years of Joe Montana, and Steve DeBerg.
@jimc.goodfellas2 жыл бұрын
Hey I appreciate the response..I guess you're right, I mean when Montana went there he was at the end of his career, and after Mahomes I guess you'd have to say Green was probably the most solid QB they've had

Mitch Trubisky in 2017 is what happened with Blaine Gabbert before him and Zach Wilson after him. He’s a guy who was never in Heisman conversations or the highest stage with his team, yet shot up draft boards cuz guys like Mel Kiper say stuff like “he has the tools to be great in the league”. And with possibly Will Levis joining them in 2023’s draft even tho Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are clearly better, it’s safe to say someone will give up a haul to Chicago so they can move up to number 2 (please do it).
@theepoetrygod Жыл бұрын
Here after the 2023 regular season. Houston clinched their division and are heading to the playoffs, mainly due to CJ Stroud playing really well. He’s in the running for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Carolina cleaned house while helping Chicago win their second consecutive Tank Bowl. Bryce Young looks to be in over his head, but it’s hard to gauge if it’s on him adjusting to the NFL level or just another case of terrible coaching. Tennessee also missed the playoffs, but their main issues were losing games that were easily winnable and catching the injury bug. Will Levis has looked solid, but was one of the victims of the injury bug. Anthony Richardson was the main surprise, as he looked to bring Indy back to relevance. Unfortunately, he was out for the season after suffering a shoulder injury. I hope he fully recovers cuz he looked damn good when he played. Keep an eye out for him. Something tells me he’s gonna be their franchise guy for years to come. Edit: I almost forgot. Despite having a strong showing at the combine and at his pro day, Will Levis was the last QB of this group to be selected.

2017 NHL draft would be an excellent video. More interesting than the talent at the top (minus Nolan Patrick) is how Vegas’s picks worked out very well… for other teams

@@tehbeernerd that’s a good point, the 2017 draft would be a great one to cover due to the expansion draft, along with the weird talent distribution

I'm here from the future its 2023 and christian mcaffrey has changed the Niners offense and took them to the playoffs. He had mediocre years with the Panthers but let me tell you 2023 is a crazy year for football.

I liked the Reddick pick at the time. Glad he is doing well for himself. But can you do a video on the Reds? The Castellini’s are deserving of a hatred video.
@UserName-ts3sp2 жыл бұрын
he did one recently on marge schott
@nintendo81272 жыл бұрын
I know. But the current Reds owner is also really bad. The only reason this current owner is slightly better is because he didn’t have those off-field baseball issues she had.

As a Niner fan, I wish we could've kept Kendrick Borne... He was a slightly above average WR, but the vibes were legendary on this dude! I'm glad he's doing well in NE. Soloman Thomas was a good player, but nobody used him right. Reuben Foster came out of the draft looking like the second coming of Aldon Smith. And then left the team looking like the second coming of Aldon Smith. (Nick Bosa is the second coming of Aldon Smith, but done the right way...) Also, The People's Tight End: GEORGE. FUCKING. KITTLE. I love that dude so much!!

Funnily enough it seems the Jags knew something about Engram that nobody else knew. He’s since gotten a contract extension with the Jaguars and he’s quickly become one of the better tight ends in the league; especially when it comes to yards after catch. Not to mention he’s one of Lawrence’s best weapons in that offense
