The same device being used to break/end up with kidney stones sounds dangerous when compare to treating such a delicate region such as the penis, but is great to know it's being effective. That's only for Peyronie's Disease or CPC (Congenital Penis Curvature) is included (Or there's no such a difference on each other?) What about the procedure, it's specific for each case or there's a pattern on the number of sections? What have been the pro's and cons of It until now a days? And the most important. What about the price, how much for the whole thing to be completely done? Thanks for your time!

Doc. In wood working, to bend or curve wood, a technique called Kerfing is used. That is slits cut half way through along the wood allows the wood to bend, with ease. Can't the same be done to scar tissue causing curvature to the penis. Take a hotdog and try to bend it 60° without breaking it if you can. Now cut slits on top of it and it will bend down with ease. Just a thought.

Something similar can be done surgically. Problem is: it compromises erectile function. So this procedure is combined with the insertion of a penile prosthesis.

Thank you for your great content! What do you think of papers and studies that suggest worseing the condition is a risk. Do yo think this is a risk to consider, before getting treated? It was still mentioned in several other papers, but it always seems to cite this study. "Extracorporeal shock wave therapy in Peyronie's disease: results of a placebo-controlled, prospective, randomized, single-blind study"
@UroChannel1A3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! There are only few studies on shockwaves and Peyronie's disease. The study you are mentioning showed a worsening condition also in the placebo arm. The difference was statistically not significant. Actually, the number of patients who could perform intercourse after the treatment was somewhat more favorable regarding p-values. They used a device that was not intended to be used on the penis and additionally, they used it on a fixation frame. It is very difficult to hit the right spot in this setting. The number of shockwaves applied was low and six sessions is not very much, either. Follow-up was remarkably short with only 4 weeks. Interestingly, there was a gap of 10 years from the time of data collection to publication, which is rather unusual.

Where was the ESWL study published ??????
@UroChannel1A3 жыл бұрын
The ESWL approach goes back to some publications from the 90's. In my video I refer to a study about ESWT: Sex Med Rev 2021;9:93e122.

Doctor, it is possible to use ESWL to non calcified plaque? In reality, I Have only a little scar tissue in my penis under the skin which cause a small curve. Nothing more like doctors said. It is possible to use ESWL or I must try only ESWT with traction device?

Where can we buy the equipment for ESWT home use please? Thanks!

I am not sure if this is possible. In my country you wouldn’t be allowed to buy this kind of machine unless you have a medical education.

I most likely have it but when I had the painful erections I immediately got tested for STD's and had it examined by two different doctors at CityMD and neither gave me a treatment for the pain and didn't tell me what it could be. I went to my primary doctor and I said that there's a foul smell in the groin area along with painful erections. He noticed a rash on the inner thigh & didn't think that the rash and the painful erection was a seperate issue. By the time I had the apintment with the urologist the painful erections were gone and I thought that the Nystatin for the rash cured the painful erections. About two weeks later my penis shortened. The urologist examined the penis thoroughly unlike the other 3 and didn't notice any lumps or a build up of plaque.

Maybe, but before that, there should be a thorough examination of the problem and a diagnosis.

No, there are no scientific reports from other users and I have never had a complication like this in any of my patients.

Hi Doc, Ive been diagnosed with PD a few months ago and have been told im in the stable phase. Ive not gotten the curvature but do have a calcified mass (ball) around the middle of my shaft. getting an erection itself isnt painful but sexual activity does feel uncomfortable due to the mass. Is shockwave treatment the go to break it down and get relief from the pain?
@UroChannel1A2 жыл бұрын
Hi! ESWT will most probably not break the plaque. It would help for painful erections, but not for discomfort during intercourse.
@charleswind82983 жыл бұрын
I’ve read in multiple sources, that shock waves have not been proven to help with pain or curvature in Peyronies !!!
@UroChannel1A3 жыл бұрын
I am talking mostly from my experience with the device. It is important to have a look at scientific results and the current guidelines, too. As such, the actual guidelines of the European Association of Urology of 2021 issue a weak recommendation for ESWT in the treatment of erectile pain in Peyronie's disease. Because scientific evidence suggests that it is effective. From my experience I can say that it is indeed the case and so far, erectile pain vanished in all of my patients within a few treatment sessions. When it comes to curvature, I am not making any claim that ESWT helps with that. Please rewatch the video carefully. I am making a distinction between patients with calcified and non-calcified plaques and I only treat patients with non-calcified plaques. As you might remember, I recommend a multimodal approach and not ESWT on its own. Traction is the cornerstone when it comes to curvature in the inflammatory phase and ESWT is thought to add up to penile extension. When it comes to the scientific literature, please study the articles yourself. Most of them are historic and lack in methodology. Treatment protocols are not comparable in terms of energy used per session / in total, source of the energy, energy density, treatment frequency and duration. Additionally, there are only few studies out there, so there is an obvious need for more research in this area. Hope that clarifies things a bit! Greetings

Hi there! Awesome channel! I just got an at home acoustic shockwave device and just used it for the first time (it's a good quality one). I think I can actually feel the difference in the spots where there's plaque/scar tissue, versus where there isn't. The spots which I'm thinking are the problem spots feel more tense and slightly more sensitive. Is this consistent with what your patients experience?
@UroChannel1A3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your support! It is possible, although I have no therapeutic experience with acoustic shockwaves in terms of direct comparison. All the best!

What if you have early scar tissue but no visible plaques because the injury is still new ( 6 months) And also not much curvature. Maybe 30 percent. I have an Indentation and narrowing Can eswt break up the scar tissue ? I've also had stem cell therapy

Hi sir, I am 22 , and I have right bend from last 5 years. I have no pain or problem in errection with that . But I masturbate 20 days ago , and after some days of masturbation , till now I have pain in urethra. The pain is not in specific area of penis, nor I am feeling a plaque. But I have pain in urine track only when touched, till penis head and some time it goes and then come back . Pain some time in penis bottom, sometime in middle ,head or in all penis . Sometime in urethra which situated back of testes ( not penis track only ) Do you think it's a Peyronie's disease second attack ? What should I do . The test of " Normal urethra and testes" is normal. ???

I think you should get an examination at your local urologist including ultrasound so sort this out. Best wishes from Germany!
