Finally found a zulu ursa game. Super excited. They are OP imo, way underrated. The basically free corps and armies for capturing a city doubles/triples your army because instead of needing to combine to make a stronger unit but go from 2 units to 1, the zulu get to keep both, and thus doubles pillaging/ability to put cities under seige/kill units. Soooo gooood.

Mali is who you go to joint war with. He was giving me like 96 gold per turn on like turn 30 to go to war with Ottomans who were obviously preparing to surprise war me. Get proxy warred Suleiman.

One of the biggest problems players can face when they do domination is that they simply dont build enough units. This is much less of a problem for the Zulu, who can allow their initial soldiers to stretch farther than any other civ thanks to the city capture making them into corps or armies.

Are you playing on deity? The AI gets insane buffs to their early game/mid game. The way to win is to establish a foothold of 8-10 cities at least and then getting your science super high late game

Bolsu the trick is to have a high standing army - the AI values your efforts in war if your military score swarfs that of their own and their opponents. Joint wars don't always pay, I have to cycle though multiple iterations of ai deals to find a good one. often the AI as you mention wants paying rather than the other way around. trial and error really!
