Ursula von der Leyen discusses Erdogan 'sofagate': 'I felt hurt and I felt alone'

Ursula von der Leyen, the first woman to be president of the European Commission, said she felt hurt and alone during a meeting with Turkey's Erdogan earlier this month which saw her colleague Charles Michel take the only seat.
Speaking yesterday, the European Commission President said she was treated poorly simply because she is a woman. In a clip from the meeting, she can be seen standing up looking at the seated men, expressing her astonishment with an 'ehm' sound, and a gesture of disappointment before she was then seated on a large beige sofa, away from her male counterparts. Michel also apologised yesterday, acknowledging he should have given up the seat.

That's not childish behavior, it is called professional. Why should she make a riot in front of Erdogan and the press at that exact moment? It could have led to a fight and she visited Erdogan to talk about important topics, not to discuss about her seat. I think she reacted very professionally, exactly as I would expect it from her.

What basis is she using to claim that she was snubbed because she is a woman? Maybe Turkey had some other resentments in mind. Her conclusion does not inevitably follow.
