I am a current intern of URTA. This is a very casual work environment with absolutely no competition. I have to say my experience here will be something I will never forget. The things I have learned about theatre and MFAs are something I am definitely thankful for. URTA has a job of helping students find the right university to start their MFA. I had the chance to watch the NUAIs which are the National Unified Auditions and Interviews. Each student will audition with a monologue for a university and have an interview. If the university likes the student they will get a call back and an offer to join their MFA program. URTA allows the student an easier way to just get all the universities in one place so to audition one at a time and just choose their best candidates. It was a great experience just watching the actors do what they do and as an actress being on the other end watching them audition. My experience at URTA has taught me that being around people who will help you in life are a necessity. I have a firm faith that these people will not allow me to fall and they are great resources for me when I am applying for my “big girl” job. I recommend this job to anyone who wants more experience in the Theatre business and who also just wants such a prestigious credit on their resume.
