The first of Group D, and a bit of a toughie! I wasn't familiar with this anthem before I began this project, but it has definitely made a lasting impression on me. I kind of regret not doing the full anthem and choosing the shorter version which is played at sporting events such as the World Cup. Orientales, la Patria o la Tumba (the official title, taken from the first line of text) has definitely helped pique my interest in the anthems of South America.
I used the sheet music found here: javanese.imslp.info/files/imgl... which helped me out greatly. Since I found the consensus of key to be C major, I took the time to transpose the music down a 3rd in Sibelius.
The National Anthem of Uruguay, when presented in its full length, is the longest anthem in the world, with a duration of approximately 6 minutes. The music was composed by Francisco José Debali, who was born in Hungary and moved to Uruguay at the age of 47. The anthem was composed by Debali in 1845, and it was declared the official anthem of Uruguay in 1848. The Italian opera influence is especially notable here because the theme of the anthem is supposedly taken from the Prologue of Donizetti's opera Lucrezia Borgia.

Sí, pero era la notación musical nueva, es decir actual... él está tocando la que se usaba hasta mediados del siglo XX !!!! Es dificilísima!!! Más que la que se usa hoy en día!!! Está llena de trémolos, que te quiero ver tocando eso!!! :D :D :D Hay que reconocer que ya es bastante que le salga casi perfecto a éste tempo....

Es verdad que musicalmente nuestro himno va un poquito más rápido, pero esta versión, en ese ritmo, me parece hermos@. Lo interpreta de maravilla, es incluso mucho más melódico, para mi registro de voz incluso más fácil y armonioso. Faltaría la segunda parte, porque el himno continúa un poco más, lo que en mi opinión, se hace algo extenso (corregirme pero es el más largo de todos los himnos). Dicho esto, me quedo con su belleza, y lo Disfruto ahora mucho más que cuando joven, niño, no era consciente de la grandeza de su letra y música. Hermoso!!! Felicitaciones al pianista, preciosa interpretación!!
