The old road, pre-I-25 (the Valley Highway back then) follow this up to Alameda, then east to Broadway, then northeast out of town. Alignments had to be made as the Valley Highway (US 87) was converted to a freeway (I-25) and I-70/270/225/80S (I-76) were added later.
