I used to drive from Kingman to Las Vegas all the time. Before they built the bridge over the Colorado river, you had to wind your way down and cross on top of the Hoover dam. Traffic was always backed up. Also, they are starting construction next month on the interchange with I40/93 in Kingman. They are only building the first two sections; the ramps to and from Phx to Vegas. No more having to stop at the congested interchange in downtown. If you're coming from or going to LA though, you will still have to stop downtown.

As a Jersey native I-11/US 93 is the only route in the West I view and looking at the Nevada State Line to Kingman section is pretty much ready for Interstate designation with Shoulder Widening. The issue to deal with is Kingman because there's not enough room for frontage roads like my I-87 concept from New York to Savannah, Georgia meeting back with I-95.

A great video. It brings back memories having travelled many years ago down this highway. I see the condition of I-40 has not improved since that time. For that matter a lot of highway 93 too. If interstate 11 is not going to proceed, then at least attempt to repave the existing roads.

Welcome the middle of nowhere! Roads are maintained to preserve, as accurately as possible, the unique Covered Wagon Traveling Experience! There's a bit of work to be done on I-11 (and some on I-40 too). Going across all that nothing for the last 10-15 minutes was worth the trip.

That had to have been a bad ride on that road with all the bumps, I've been that way driving trucks as well. I put music on while watching. It really feels like being on the road trip.

We rode US 93 between Vegas and kingman at night and it was the darkest dark I ever seen until I rode a cruise ship and looked at the water during the night

I noticed that traveling through various southwestern states many years ago. If I recall Arizona had the worst, while Nevada highways were in pretty good condition! It must be all the gambling tax revenue they can sink into infrastructure!
