sdf3123 thanks I appreciate it. So Im enlisting as a 1n3x1, and the tech school can be 1-2 years long. I’m turning 19 on the 22nd. I know its 22 before prep and 23 before the academy. When can I actually go about applying to the Academy while active duty? I think my AFSC is also critically manned , will this affect my ability to apply or will I even be allowed?

George_alcatraz okay so I can only answer you based off what I’ve heard on the grape vine because you have an incredibly niche question. To my knowledge, there is no “time on station” requirement you need before you can apply. So theoretically, you could start applying as soon as you get to tech school. This will be challenging though. And you may have a hard time getting leadership to sign off on it because to them, your focus should be the current mission. Attending the school your already at. Your tech school is long though. So if you start your application process for either this year, or probably next year, you might have a small “strike zone” where you could slip in that application and get the whole ball rolling before you even leave. I don’t really know how your tech school could be 1 to 2 years. You should probably know exactly how long it’s supposed to be. But with what you told me, you could theoretically get the ball rolling as soon as you get to tech school. About mid way through the process your squadron commander will sign a specific form, and that’ll put you into an “availability status” in which you won’t get orders to change bases for the remainder of the application process. So if you do it in tech school, you’ll probably still have to finish your classes there, but when you graduate you may potentially be stuck there. It may be better to hold off on that commanders signature until you get to your first base. You can start the application, you just won’t follow through with it until your at your next base. It’ll also give you time to learn all the nuances of the Air Force.

chart of assignments at 16:50. 2 graduates went into the security forces. That class rank of 819 and 820 didn't work out so well.

What is a division 1 program? A candidate selected for their sport Skills while meeting the academic requirements of admissions?
