*The international law* is very clear on the South China Sea: - parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including the Philippines 🇵🇭, - the rest of it is the international water, - no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

As a matter of fact, POGOs in the Philippines have been committing cyber attacks already. Embattled Mayor "Alice Guo" is allegedly a Chinese citizen (not a Filipino at all) who has ties to perhaps the biggest POGO offender in the Philippines to-date. It is good for the Philippines to stand up to and respond to Chinese aggression in the digital space.

The Philippines is moving away from China's digital sphere. It makes better sense for the Philippines to create a digital infrastructure with Japan and America. This way the Philippines can digitally and robustly connect with Europe,Australia, New Zealand ,Canada ,ASEAN and Latin America(unless Latin America chooses China).

“The Philippine Government is confronted with a huge dilemma. It wants greater reassurance from the United States, but it’s likely not getting that, and it also wants to avoid unwanted escalation,” said Heydarian. “It’s extremely important for the Philippines and U.S. to signal that Filipino troops are empowered and sanctioned to use live firearms to defend themselves, and that usage of live firearms by China would immediately trigger the MDT,” he added. However, according to Abdul Rahman Yaacob, a research fellow at the Lowy Institute’s Southeast Asia Program, the U.S. is unlikely to widen the scope of the defense pact, as doing so could draw them into a wider military conflict.

PH gov want to "participate" , the people better be prepare. On June 26, the Philippine Ambassador to the United States (Jose Manuel Romualdez) said that if a war breaks out in the Taiwan Strait, Manila may allow the US military to use its Philippine bases.
