I began listening to Taylor Marshall, going to Latin mass, and opening my eyes to what the "powers that be" were really up to in the world. From Taylor, I began listening to Kennedy Hall and I learn a lot from Kennedy. He has a way of stepping back from a subject and explaining the big picture. This is so priceless for so many of us who -even as cradle catholics- have never been exposed to the big picture. I honestly had no idea what it meant to be catholic. I feel like I've had no idea how to think, how to feel, what to believe- not only about the faith specifically but practical matters about how the world works. Anyway, I used to think as an American first and then a catholic but I definitely think as a CAtholic first now. I feel like I'm starving to learn the truth. Anyway sorry that was long winded! On Secular College campuses, Jews actively seek out students whose mother is Jewish (even if culturally only) despite the father being a devout Catholic and even if these students were brought up in the Catholic Faith. My nieces went in practicing Catholics part of the Neumann Center, and by graduation they identified themselves as Jews. It's been 10 yrs since and they have only become more Jewish to the point that you can't mention anything Catholic, even innocently saying you'll pray the Rosary for them (for anything!) without them spurning the idea. It was so hurtful to me that I cried. I have been praying for their return for many years. I put my trust in Jesus.

This added some valuable information. As many across the theological terrian, I felt the lines of demarcation had somewhat blurred, with the exception of Islam, due to the cultural integration & the decline in adherence to one’s previous faith, both by the clergy & faithful. However, it is more than apparent that the issues were just sidelined, not resolved. As a child growing up in a pre V2 environment, the issue of the differences between Jews and Catholics was mostly defined by the fact that they didn’t accept Jesus as Christ/Messiah & by the time I got old enough to know the ins & outs, the issue was off the table. The first inkling that I got that perhaps there was a deeper & still unresolved (on both sides) divide, was Kyrie Irving’s tweet about the H2N documentary. As I listened to one of the leaders of this movement, I was struck by the fact that many people (most importantly the Jews) were still stuck in the Old Testament despite 2000 years of Christianity, Events, of course, have escalated from there. Bottomline, ‘the more things change the more they remain the same’. I believe & agree that Christianity is the only way out of this canyon, problem is that word has been so diluted as to become meaningless; case in point, I know the word (Christianity or Catholicism) does not mean the same for/to me as it does Pope Francis. I do take exception to the cult reference about Trump. I, & so many like me, do not see Trump as a savior. We see him for exactly the human being that he is, flawed & ego driven. But it is not just that he is better than Biden, it is that if he does not win, the phrase ‘opening the gates to hell’ will become a reality & not just for the US. Sorry for the long comment.
