Props to the hawaii teams defence. The amount of insane spikes they were to pick up and then score with a counter was too many times 😮

In 2000 when I was playing volleyball with York University we played against this university. The Japanese players were kind, respectful, and we had a great time. Cool to see them 23 years later.

First, thank you for uploading such an interesting game! As other Japanese comments mentioned, the height of the sets from Hawaii equalled its speed, so Tsukuba's blockers didn't seem to catch up. But still, Tsukuba retaliated with their nationally famous attackers. Fans in Japan could feel the game was worth watching, at least being able to know that those attackers are internationally competent😀

The difference in physicality is insane. I think that the lowest jumper in Hawaii still has a higher spike touch than the highest in Tsukuba. Still close set though

Some of the calls made by the officials like block touch and out are horrible. Honestly it just made me think that they were in Japan’s favour.
The US team's setter (13) is much more skillful than that of the Japanese team's (19) who is rather monotonous in his sets and is weak in defence, in my opinion.

Hawaii's setter is bad overall. He's slow and can't really move that quick. His defense is almost non-existent. lol He's just tall. That's all. And he's a setter which really doesn't mean much since I'm sure Hawaii can find a better setter. Japan's setter is quick and has amazing hands. ON top of that, his defense and set choices are deceiving.
