US Corn Planting is SLOW

1.25" last night Southern Mn. Pretty wet again. A few people were able to start planting again yesterday. Been out of fields for 2+ weeks. Corn done tho and beans 40%. Thanks Joe and crew!

South central Mn, it started raining this morning around 1am and stopped around 5am. The waiting game continues. 75% corn in. No beans in yet. Thank you for the show Joe and Mackenzie.

Western Canada for the part has gotten a huge rain in the last two days. Personally we are sitting at 1.7 inches in the last wk. very thankful!! Will make seeding so nice. Surprised markets haven’t fallen off the wall. I sold big chunk of canola before the rain thinking it would plummet … rain makes grain. It went up lots on Monday so I sold more. Could have gone the other way. Seeding will be delayed for a while, most don’t care after this soaker.

I’m shocked on Indiana we are east central area and it’s the earliest we have been done planting all 4000 acres of corn and 4100 acres of beans done

South central Ks.. 269 days between 1” rains.. after yesterday got our second for the year.. up to 2.82” since Jan 1st vs 10 year average of 6.10”. The dead wheat is now wetter.. dead wheat.. maybe.. 15%.. probably about half (here) is semi alive.. and the top 35% could add 10 bushels from these rains.. so.. 15 bu to 35 bu wheat? Maybe? We now have moisture to germinate fall crops sown into dryland.. so now some corn and soybeans will be attempted vs prevented plantings.. however we pre watered our pivots and 3 days after laying down an inch.. well.. “did we water this?” We are MORE THAN HAPPY to join club.. too wet to plant for a day or two.. but.. the ENSO cycle says to enjoy this “wet” ??? Part of the cycle as “dry” awaits us.. USDA to print a 15 billion bu corn crop.. lol. “Whatever.” The weatherman called for 1 inch rains most of the last 275 days also.. comic relief I guess. We’re hoping to have enough rain to see our irrigated corn potential reached.. we’re permitted at 18”.. 2” in the gas can minus 5” from Evaporation.. and August 106 degree La Niña on the way.. “Maverick, I should have been a truck driver.. do you still have the number of that truck driving school?” Goose out.
