Rupee was linked with British Pound for historical reasons til 80s. British Pound was equal to Rs13.33 for many years. After India devalued in 1966, British Pound became Rs21. Rupee linked eith US Dollar from 80s. During 2006/2007 US Dollar was Rs47. Now it is around Rs83 to Dollar.

Ruppee ki value girti to atleast export to badhta. Lekin humari ruppee bhi girti ja rahi aur export bhi nahi badh raha. Jab se dollar ruppee 40 rs ke level se tha tab se lekar aaj tak 83 Rs tak export 280 bn se matr 400 bn hi pahuch paya. Ye 400bn bhi last year ka exception tha due to record petroleum product sale.
