"He pays $16.34/hr" I think I found the problem. And he's paying more than average. (Former landscaper here) Landscaping services and agricultural work should pay significantly more and COST the property owner/ end consumer more. If the alleged unmet demand doesn't materialize into willingness and abilty to pay more, then how great can it be? If improving pay and conditions for these non-outsourceable jobs enough to attract native labor means that food costs more and landscaping and domestic service returns to being a luxury service for the wealthy, then so be it. That's still more sustainable than the ponzi scheme of importing ever larger deluges of desperate immigrants, few of whose children will even work these jobs!

Reliable people. Hardly ever are immigrants called that. ❤ Hard working and family oriented are other suitable words to describe them too. Where are the able bodied people on welfare?

Where are Gen X& Z workers? ( When I was in college, it was normal to do these jobs in the summer to help cover your college expenses.)

First of all, Gen X workers are in their 50s. Millennials are in their 30s and 40s. Yes Gen Z are largely still in college, but the gig economy is MUCH more attractive financially for college educated kids.
