The Taiwanese will be defending their Homeland. This has always been a force-multiplier in past conflicts. Key to any invasion is air dominance. Without air cover, there cannot be a naval landing or air borne drop. F-16's are the real deal. J-15's are not.

Technically, they are Taiwanese F-CK-1 fighters (and I'm not pulling your leg, that's the actual designation). They're made by Taiwan, so the image is somewhat relevant since it's showing the planes which will be replaced with block 70 F-16's. From the top they look like an F-16 with 2 pipes, from the bottom they look a lot like an F-18. They were built with US technical assistance, so it's not too strange of a blend.

By recent observations of China and its ongoing incursions in Taiwan airspace using large numbers of aircraft, should be something we should not ignore. It demonstrates a tactic that will more than likely be used against others in actual offensive operations. Overwhelming the opponents defensive capability’s is effective. They also show interest in developing close range and powerful EMP weapons which would render even new warships electronic sensor and weapons systems useless making them sitting ducks. We need to think outside the box and we aren’t.

USMC is firing NSMs mounted on JLTV chassis. This will be a core weapon for the USMC's island-hopping strategy. NSMs mounted on mobile JLTV chassis would be excellent and be able to hit everything China sails in the Taiwan Strait.
@verdebusterAP3 жыл бұрын
The NMESIS is a good concept but they have really opted for a heavier warhead Granted the missile can precisely target different areas of the ship and even has delayed fuzing options but with ships Packing a heavier punch is a must
@chuckhooks66213 жыл бұрын
@verdebusterAP. Taiwan has a major weapon in the form of threatening to humiliate Xi on a global stage. Pictures of Chinese transport ships burning uncontrollably as a result of NSM hits, going viral, might be enough to cause XI to break off an attack. That would be Taiwan's goal. Taiwan would need to depend on Japanese and US submarines to break the back of large Chinese warships if those warships would even be used. Otherwise, NSMs are more than enough for transport and smaller ships. It should be noted that SM-6s have much smaller warheads than NSMs but that does not curb the USNs enthusiasm for using swarms of SM-6s in an anti-ship role. Disabling or severely degrading the sensitive electronics on a surface ship via SM-6s or NSMs can be effective enough in the short term. Sinking a ship is not always necessary. .
@verdebusterAP3 жыл бұрын
@@chuckhooks6621 If Xi commits ,nothing is going to make him break off unless the US steps in China does not care about how many ships burn, their tactics has always been about shear numbers They are perfectly willing to use their own forces as cannon fodder. As for subs, 2 at most to reduce the chances of friend fire The SM-6 used in the ASM/TLAM role is more of tight spot weapon. True but not sinking can be problematic In WW2 ,the Japanese used their destroyers and cruisers as make shift transports That tactics can still work today. the DDG and CG slows down enough for the transports to get off in RHIBs and then hauls ass outta there LPDs like the 071 can only make 18 knots while most DDGs and CGs can make 28 plus knots Even disabled they can be used in variety of ways even as shields Trying to hit 071 is easy but fast moving DDG or CG is much harder

The Afghan army also had plenty of American weapons and supplies. No matter, it collapsed in weeks. Victory is also a function of the will to fight and win. The majority of Taiwanese, like the South Vietnamese, would rather just pack up and run to the US if possible. Besides, the will to fight basically fellow countrymen will be worn down soon enough, just like the South Vietnamese.

Taiwan should start building coastal defense bunkers and trenches, just as Germany did in the Normandy beach. Those bunkers and trenches must be strong enough to withstand the heavy bombardment of missiles when China start invading Taiwan.
