Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the F16 Viper striking a Chinese Submarine and I'm trying to do that before 2 J15 will get there to protect her.
Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthawg , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.

Your videos are so entertaining, the camera angles you pick tell the story so nicely. Your landing would have been a wave off in the Navy, but with those big USAF style runways, only the tower knows you missed the cues for the crosswind approach and crab angle input. Crew Chief : "Lieutenant can I show you something? What you did to these tires isn't going to buff out, I'm not your C.O., but how about you jump in the sim and shoot some 30 knot +, cross wind approaches? At least you aren't bending oleo struts like Growling Sidewinder, he lands everything like a Yak driver in WWII landing on the Motherland's frozen tundra!" 🤣

I have been using what you and GS do so yesterday I fired 2 Amraams for 2 kills on our usual Friday/Saturday mission (its actually a set of mission options within the same mission). So I am starting to figure out how and at what range to fire Aim120s as well as defending from incoming missiles! Thank you so much Longshot!

Good rule of thumb is you can get about 10 miles per hundred pounds of fuel, obviously off the burner, also depends on altitude, but generally, hundred pounds will get your 10 miles. Learned that on countless GS server, dog fights, good rule of thumb to know when to go home.

How does altitude affect this? better to stay high, or better to be super low? Guessing high is the way to be.

@@tippership higher altitude the air is much thinner, so the jet can fly along at the same speed using much less fuel. Down low, under 10,000’, the air is much denser/thicker, and uses more fuel to move the jet along.👍

​@@pauldanrich3919 gotcha ; i was also thinking there will be a minor thrust increase at lower altitude for a jet engine compared to above since modern jet fighter engines are built for total performance via the afterburner and geared towards that But i suppose less drag losses up high beats weaker engine thrust losses via thrust energy as you approach your flight ceiling

@@tippership top speed of F16 in DCS (clean, no missiles or tanks) is M2, but only at around 35k to 40k feet, that’s the sweet spot. Any lower, too much air drag, any higher, loss of power.

love the viper videos. Id use bombs over mavericks for that target, 2*GBU 10, if it isnt moving then 2000 pound JDAMs GBU 31, BOOM thatll snap that sub in half lol also targeting pods cant go over 5g from memory, worth noting that best to use your 2 fox 3s then turn cold and escape

With all respect. If submarine had a radar exposure, defend system sees you. And the flankers as well. This is how it works in a real life. So basically after you shoot in 1 sec You must have attack on you.

Since you brought the J15 in this video, I need to know. Have you tried doing split throttle in any of the Chinese flankers? You have only done the Russian ones to my knowledge

At around 5:27 there were a series of beeps. I think there was already one missile (not sure the type?) Inbound... At 5:30 I heard: 8 beeps low, 8 beeps high (over the low) 8 beeps high Along with a kind of ringing tone in the background I'm guessing the first low beeps were the original fox warning passing 15 seconds, and the two high pitched ones were 2 new missiles inbound? Could someone confirm?
