Sarcastically speaking, it may seem like a smart move for a third world country, but in reality, it unleashes a whole Pandora's box of exploitation. The crucial question to consider is: where will the line be drawn? Interestingly, if this were to occur in another nation, the US would undoubtedly condemn it as a violation of human rights. It appears that the US always assumes its actions are inherently correct.

It's called poverty. Many countries don't have the luxury of education and summer vacation for kids. In the Philippines we have kids pushing wooden carts collecting scraps when I was growing up. That's the reality rich countries never seem to grasp in their ivory tower as they lecture things like environment issues where they can live with the advances of technology but the poor they won't share it with have to burn wood to cook. But now they'll once again learn all about poverty, multi generational households, and children working because even two income households will eventually won't cut it because they won't even raise wages for "uniquely American" crap.
@williamdavis9562
@williamdavis9562 Жыл бұрын
And yes apparently India's children are so rich that they can sit in their ivory towers and judge Americans lol But to your point, you do have a very valid point. I find it ridiculous when people judge others without any sort of context as to the life those people have to live. Reminds me of that CNN reporting who was grilling an African leader about LGBTQ issues and he responded "We have people starving in this country, do you really believe LGBTQ issues should be at the top of our list." Also perhaps a bit of poverty will save America. It might force multi generational households like you said and perhaps rebuild the nuclear family unit that has been the bedrock of every successful civilization.

Working for a family business or odd jobs within their own community =/= industrial jobs, night shifts, chemical handling, bartending. while child labor IS a bad thing, maintaining lower hours like 5 hours or less wouldn't be harmful. it actual does a lot of things, first and foremost it starts giving them early work experience, it gives them spending money which will help boost the economy and it's going to teach them responsibility at an earlier age while they manage spending that money. obviously you'd not allow them to have a credit card but a banking debit card would be fine since you can still buy things online with it. i've actually said they need to start bringing kids into the job market at around 14 or 15, i was mowing our 2.5 acre property and chopping wood when i was 12, i didn't have an allowance for it. it's not as bad as it sounds, though i definitely feel like there should be limitations on using certain types of equipment that is dangerous like heavy machinery and stuff, things like power tools and hand tools helps build confidence and even an assembly line job isn't that bad... lets be real, the conditions are FAR better than in most counties you'd compare it to. New York State doesn't even allow anyone under the age of 18 to operate a food mixer but you can start working at around 16 or 17 years old... obviously some state laws are going to differ from one another but yea. bring back child labor!

No, Trump was just a wild card thrown in the cog of the US machine because Americans were frustrated by it. He was no solution to anything. He was still increasing defense spending and cutting taxes paid by the rich. At best he has loose lips and openly admits how they'll steal Syria's oil. The real frustrating thing is that people herald him like he's a savior, which only shows the Americans are actually okay just declaring who is Venezuela's president because they say so.

They will be allowed to work 8 hrs during the summer. Many youth work in the summer because in the US schools are closedl. @@chinmaykamalapurkar16 Well, in my country a child can work for 4 hours a day when they are 14 or 15, and 6 hours per day when they are 16 or 17. After 18 it is 8 hours, like adults. However, most jobs available for young teenagers are helping gardeners in publuc parks in the summer when there is no school. Basically it is safe and healthy. Noone would expect a child to work till 9 in the evening though. It would be something like 10 to 2 in the afternoon. Serving alcohol at night sounds seriously weird. I don't think that it is wrong for a child to work, on the contrary, it is an important and valuable experience However, if a child is at school for at least 6 hours, then works for 6 hours, then he has homework to complete, it starts looking rather rough

For sure it’s overblown. My son is 15 and will be working in the summer at a fast food restaurant with his friends. My neighbors son used to work at Walmart lifting boxes starting at 5 am. He was driving my friends $84k Mercedes’ to work a $9/hr a job. The reason I am mentioning this is because it is VERY COMMON for teenagers to start working at 14-15. They get to have real world experience, make money and have fun. In fact this should be encouraged in India. Either it is an outright exploitative condition in India or people won’t send their kids to work at all… “Wo Sharmaji ka ladka McDonald mein kaam kar raha tha! Hai Ram!!” 😝

This is not child labour these are teenagers. At this age the children are tall and well grown and full of energy. Working keep them occupy and divert their energy and not engage into something notorious. Through working they learn the value of money and will then appreciate the fruit of their labour. Another advantage of this program is it gives them work experience, which is what employers are looking for.
