I saw that US Mobile had priority data for 5G devices in their subreddit yesterday and I am happy to see the actual QCI is confirmed. This is awesome! I couldn't help but notice that the prepaid plan was only getting like 10% of the bandwidth. Ouch. It's crazy how much of a value US Mobile is now with a 5G device. At $25 in a family plan, it competes quite well with AT&T Prepaid's group pricing since that runs $34 for Unlimited Max with priority data if you sign up through the activation site or $44 for the base unlimited plan if you just go through the regular AT&T site. Because other MVNOS, such as Xfinity Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, and MobileX, have priority data, too.

@@StetsonDoggett Good to know! I just signed up with tmobile too this was my only issue with Verizon as it is so congested in my area that if you are depri, you get literally those same results as your prepaid test lol. So when you use the 75gb, is it just deprioritized during congestion, or is it horrible speeds until the next cycle?

Thanks - great video! Quick question - on your slides at the end (for family plans, starting at 10:12 mark), you show "Deprioritized" for US Mobile. Is that a typo?

Yes, that is a typo. I got the graphic as a screenshot of my website, and I hadn't updated the website yet!

Can you have a 5G phone and somehow it's not compatible with getting the 75 GB of premium data on US Mobile ? I seem to be in that situation. I have a Samsung galaxy a 71 5g and are currently using Mint for service.
@JonSuejoj2 жыл бұрын
What if customers are not in a 5g area, will they still get premium data??🤨
@A42yearoldARAB2 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering this as well, also how much of the 75gbs is priority? I saw another video that said only 5gbs is. I also read that as long as you have a 5g capable phone, you keep your priority if there's no signal in the area for 5g. lots of conflicting information about this so far. also, does the data still drop to 2g speeds or just get depri after the 75gb?

Great video !! What app are you using again to determine the QCI? Thanks!
@StetsonDoggett2 жыл бұрын
I’m using the app Network Signal Guru. It requires a rooted Android phone with a specific type of processor to get the QCI value.

@@StetsonDoggett that’s an LTE device, how did you get higher QCI then? Does high priority apply as long as the initial device activated is 5G?

I'm a little confused I guess... I am weighing the options of buying a 5G device or considering pulling my Pixel 2XL off Verizon and going with US Mobile... I am trying to get a picture in my head of what to expect for data performance... Pixel 2XL is not a 5G device. Pixel 2XL when it was released in 2017 was a monster of a device and seems it is still somewhat of a monster device today... I just speedtest'ed my 2XL connected to Verizon's LTE network and my speedtest results are 4 1/2 nearly 5 times the speed of the 5G results showing in this test with 185Mbps down, upstream was comparable with 28Mbps. This makes me believe I can ditch the 5G idea for now as it's really not needed and I am plenty happy with my current data situation. My 2XL works fine and has been paid for at least 3 years at this point... I'm just not happy with a $95/mo Verizon bill for one line. should I expect similar LTE results via the Verizon infrastructure using US Mobile? It would seem this is a safe bet to put my 2XL with US Mobile and expect similar results. I am not a huge bandwidth user I think I have exceed 5GB of data a month on Verizon twice in five years. My main uses are the hotspot to provide data to my Joying Android Car stereo deck which I use mostly for Serius XM, Waze and You-Tube and on the 2XL I would say I watch a handful of KZbin videos daily using WiFi when available... It seems like US Mobile will be a good fit...

I usually get over 140+ mbps (sometimes as high as 160mbps) on my verizon mobile data. Is there different premium data plans?
@warppizza2 жыл бұрын
Depends on distance from the cell tower, backhaul capacity of the tower, how many other customers are currently active on that tower. Verizon postpaid are almost all ‘premium data’ with the exceptions being that the non-unlimited shared plans don’t have wideband 5G, and the cheapest unlimited plan, ‘5G Start’, is deprioritized.
@pojr2 жыл бұрын
just curious, how were you getting QCI 8 on the pixel 3a? the 3a is an LTE-only phone, shouldn't be 9?
@StetsonDoggett2 жыл бұрын
This is a great question. I have two theories. 1. The US Mobile SIM was in the S22 Ultra (a 5G phone) for long enough that it was essentially provisioned as 5G and did not update when I put it in the Pixel 3a. 2. The priority data is assigned based on the IMEI you use when you sign up and is never updated. A note on option 1: the US Mobile SIM has now been in my Pixel 3a for about 15+ hours, and it still is showing QCI 8. So I suspect option 2 may be more correct.

Wow, what an awesome deal, one question does US mobile allow roaming?
@patricka052 жыл бұрын
It's very rare that you will ever be on extended network on Verizon . But to answer your question, I am almost certain that no you cannot roam. You will only be able to use Verizon's towers. It would be identical to Spectrum Mobile. Only postpaid Verizon customers can go into extended network.

Hey. I was looking at the US Mobile video and decided to go for it as I am traveling to the US soon. - My device (iphone 12 pro) is on the supported device list for esim, but the test keeps saying "Not a digital IMEI" I have used the device for esim service before. Could it be due to the fact that the iphone is from Denmark. (I also tried with a 13 pro)
