I had no idea the US has had this many aircraft carriers, this was an awesome presentation and I learned a lot. Thank you!

If you include the light & escort carriers we have had around 200!

CVN 81, will be the USS Doris Miller. My fellow welders and I worked on CVN 78, and 79. Glory!

I hate that Miller got a carrier. I agree he should be honoured but Carriers should be reserved for Presidents. After Nimitz Vinson and Stennis are scrapped everything would have been right in the world. Then up pops CVN-81. The world hates me. Of course it's mandatory to have an Enterprise in the fleet.

@@JimScarpineJr Why not name a carrier after someone who should have gotten a Medal of Honour for his actions on December 7th, 1941, BUT DIDN'T GET IT BECAUSE HE IS NOT WHITE?

@JimScarpineJr So Enterprise, a non US President getting named to a Carrier is OK, but Political figured who were once in the Navy don't deserve aby spotlight? *Wasp, Lexington, Yorktown, Hornet... all legends, all names for Carriers.*

Man, every time I see or hear of the *CV-63 USS Kitty Hawk,* it makes me kinda sad that they didn't keep it as a Museum.

Served on Saratoga CV-60 and Independence CV-62…. As a crewman on both…I prefer they were “dismantled “ not scrapped …it sounds to cruel for these grand ladies of the sea.
