US Navy P-8 Poseidon at Comox Airshow

Welcome to the lounge at 19 Wing Comox for the airshow that took place on the 18th of May. In this exciting video, we will see the US Navy P-8 Poseidon jet landing the day before the airshow in Comox. On the day of the airshow, I will show the impressive static display. The grand finale is witnessing this magnificent machine take off from CFB Comox. With sincere gratitude, I thank our US military allies, the men and women who have served, are currently serving, and will serve in the future. Your Canadian friends say thank you.

Based on the Boeing 737-800, it's a maritime reconnaissance platform. Great to get a close up look around the outside. Interesting that it took off with only the leading edge slats open and no flap deployed.

@mothmagic1, Ian you make me chuckle. I am grateful you know what's going on when planes come and go! I'm the camera lady, I really don't pay attention to the finite details until much later in the edit phase. My goal when recording, is to keep my eye(I only have one) on the subject , keep the subject somewhat centred, be cognizant of the surrounding landscape and it's natural beauty, don't move the camera too fast, keep the camera perfectly horizontal, stay calm, and remind myself, you've got this under control. I only get one shot at getting it right, and most of the time I do pretty well. The scene can happen so freakin' fast! Thanks for noticing the little details, I take care of the big ones....lol. I had no idea that it took off with only the leading edge slats open and no flap deployed, now I know. I am sincerely grateful for your knowledge, kind words, engagement and support since I started this journey. The ride is just beginning! Best....Corrie
