I know all of the attention is on Emma Raducanu and rightfully so. Leylah Fernandez had an amazing tournament! She defeated three top 5 players and one top 20 player on her way to the finals. That is incredible! I wish both ladies the very best and a bright future in tennis.

I was rooting for Emma, and am really pleased she won. However, let's take nothing away from Leylah's achievements, which are fantastic, and I am really impressed by both her tennis and her maturity, just like Emma. I don't agree that all the attention is on Emma - it's also on Leylah, and rightly so. What a future women's tennis has with these two! In my opinion, they will be the Federer - Nadal rivals/friends that men's tennis produced for the next 10 - 15 years.

But even more I was fascinated by the unique combination of adamant mentality and charming attitude. I honestly can't remember such a strong character since Justine: doesn't matter what score is on a table, what player's rank is on the other side - it literally took wrecked legs to defeat you. And the way you celebrate big points, the way you smile after saving matchpoints - yes, this is definitely your superpower :) So, congrats on the amazing tournament, happy to see you smile again, good luck in Indian Wells and many-many other big competitions. Yeah, that is what I was wondering. Why are they not giving her a seat while the host are sitting?. This is a head scratcher.

Leyla Fernandez is amazing. Sweet but strong, full of grace and humility. And I have to say, I am impressed with Hoda and Jenny. They were genuinely interested i the young lady and you can sense their sincere admiration and love for her and her story. This brought a smile to my face. Thanks ladies.

She lost to Emma at Junior Wimbledon three years ago. This was her chance to set the record straight. But she'll have more chances in future.

@@davidkeenan5642 ..she was 16 years old …Emma being in England would allow her to train on grass year round..Did she win the tournament? ..Leylah won the French Open juniors Championship One meeting means nothing
@-BigIi-3 жыл бұрын
@@davidkeenan5642 exactly, as Rhonda Liberman said that's just one meeting, whereas a rivalry is and , it denotes lots of hopefully brutal tennis meetings:))) I think both these girls were winners and broke records, 2 qualifiers ending up in the final, one not dropping a set and I'm not surprised she won.. this time:))
