I have been to this many times and have played Walton Heath many times.. A few years ago I watched Thomas Pieters take driver on the 18th and put it in the bunker and lose out qualifying. I can't quite get my head around again watching these excellent pro golfers do the same. Why not get your yardages right, take the right club and leave it short of the bunker and short pitch to the green ? It not as if Walton Heaths bunkers are easy to play from as they have heather and gorse in them. Madness ( clueless ) even ?
