US-Philippines military exercises: Anger in northern region over ties

China has condemned joint military exercises by the Philippines and the United States in waters near Taiwan. The live drills were conducted in a northern region of the Philippines. But the local government there is not too keen on the increasingly warm relations between Washington and Manila.
