Well delivery a baby is super expensive because most of the insurance cost are subject to deductible for mother and newborns medical expenses when abortion is covered with not cost. Same for IVF most of the plans excluded those services but birth control hasn’t cost at all

People can't afford kids. they can't afford homes to give their kids a room, a yard; can barely feed themselves let alone 2 or more children. The cheapest brand of formula is almost $40 and the can is gone in a few days. Diapers are expensive. Bigger problem also is who has time to raise them? Both parents have to work to float by and childcare costs literally $300+ a WEEK. I'm lucky enough to scrape by as the only worker in the house. If my wife got a job her ENTIRE paycheck would be going to childcare. What's the point of working if it doesn't have a net positive on the budget? If we're going to be broke we may as well have her not work and actually get to raise our own kids

"I never wanted children and I NEVER thought I would love being a mother!" -- One of my female co-workers who unexpectedly became pregnant at 42 years old and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Because she was Catholic, abortion was off the option list. Good for her. Does her and her husband struggle? No, not really. Hubby worked to advance his education to get higher pay, she did the same. They still probably live in the same small home but they're happy and love their daughter.

This is B.S. Reality that better educated modern young adults understands that having large families is a thing of the past. It is a relic for the poor and poorly educated. Where do you see large families? In communities in the north and on the coasts where there are generally more endu cared people with a higher living standard, or in the south and Midwest where people seem to be adhering more to some outdated biblical way of thinking and where they are of lesser education and means? Having 4-6kids was a means to survival and a lack of birth control. We don’t need that now. Also not all of us consider kids a blessing. Some of us prefer our careers and friends.

The whole idea of "marriage and the family" we are talking about comes from a different era where people expected to have stable lives, and wages/average earnings were reasonably related to the cost of living. Today, having children is just extra workload for women who are already stressed with their careers. For men, there is a high risk of having their lives and careers completely ruined if they get involved with marriage and children. People aren't stupid, and these days most people really have to focus on self-preservation basics. Ultimately, the people who run the economy and make all these decisions about people's lives...this is the outcome they engineered based on a decades old fear of over-population, so it seems kinda silly to suggest there is a "problem" normal people need to "fix" by taking huge risks that could ruin it for everyone, including the children.
