When it comes to Evergreen rod it helps to pre-roll the length (wrap it like a spring around a 3/8" drill bit) around a smaller diameter object first, to put a curl in it. This way it will clasp on it's own even without cement. Furthermore, you can cut the length perfectly during the dry run. Cheers Bill. ;-)

Bill, what a clever idea to use a ruler as a 'third hand' to hold parts in place. I usually use something pointy and somehow am surprised when I end up with pointy little holes where I don't want them. It's not quite like discovering gravity, but dang, it sure is handy! Ghost of the SP

Hi Thom, that's one of the many tips I picked up from Boomer. The straight edge of the ruler is handy for coaxing things into square and applying pressure. But still sometimes I forget and use my thumb, and even today I left a thumbprint in some wet solvent on a model 🙄. But hey, that's what sandpaper is for, right? Roll on - Bill 😎
